  1. I had a great weekend, and so did my much better half! Organisation was great, and starting the enduro from the farmers market was cool, even my mom popped out for breakfast and watched the start! I can see enduro growing massively in the future! The general vibe is awesome!
  2. Everything lives in the shed... Had visitors for the last 2 nights trying to get in though....

  4. ok to all phoning me! The gs3 is GONE! After speaking to the guy who services my machine and also owns a GS3, he said the best bet is to contact Foodserv 011 616 5183. Apparently they are the cheapest by a long way on La Marzocco locally!
  5. Happymartin. Drop me a pm with your number! I may know of a gs3 for sale! But my 2c why not go for a rotary pump e61 machine? Expobar brewtus, izzo alex or the likes?? I have a San Remo Trevisio lx. Rotary pump, hx machine. The La Marzoccos are beautiful and make great espresso, but they are spendy! Honestly they ar
  6. Agreed. Even Formula 1 is pretty boring to watch compared to when there were minimal rules.. 25 pages of wasted internet here...
  7. Its called a Gene roaster, fairly simple home roaster!
  8. Going to be a busy weekend drinking coffee
  9. I bought my Gene from Dirkus at BeanRushcoffee.co.za I can PM you his number, he is very reasonable and i know he has a few about to arrive! I have had mine nearly 2 years and probably roasted about 60kg of coffee at least with it!
  10. Stick a small PC cooling fan under the tray and you will have a winner setup!
  11. The roasting part is actually fairly straight forward, its getting the beans out the popper and cool fast enough thats tricky!
  12. 223 pages of coffee talk on a bike site!. Well I probably know how to use my coffee machine a bit better than my MTB.. Iv got a San Remo Trevisio LX, a Casadio Enea grinder and a Gene roaster! I see some guys have pretty sweet set ups with GS3s ect, but my best money spent was my Gene roaster!! http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r1/YZ12588/Mobile%20Uploads/20141112_143447_zpseb630ab4.jpg
  13. TO me the drop out rate doesnt look bad. I race motorcycle enduro and we have a huge drop out rate even at world class level, like Roof of africa, only about a 10% finishing rate. With the cape epic being one of the toughest multi day stage races Id say its a pretty high finishing rate!
  14. Its pretty much the same format as motorcycle enduro and car rally stages. You ride in allowed time "regularity" from racing stage to the next racing stage. in motorcycle enduro, the regularity time gets shorter each lap. So for instance 1st lap you have a 10km loop, with a 5km racing section, and you have 1 hour to complete the entire loop as a sighting lap. Then the second lap you have 50mins to complete the whole lap, but you are then also timed in the racing section. 3rd lap 45 mins for the entire loop and so on. Im not sure if you get a sighting lap in mtb enduro racing.
  15. Thanks for the replies, the wild dog forum is more for touring, not so competetive stuff. The Roof of africa http://www.roof-of-africa.com/ What do most guys eat during races like the epic?
  16. Hi guys. I am a social cyclist amd motorcycle enduro racer. I am posting on the cycling forum because I know you guys are more clued up with nutrition than "we" are. I am doing the Roof of Africa at the end of the month and I'm looking for some advice. We race for up to and over 12 hours a day, and the biggest problems last year were recovery between days and nutrition.. I'm looking for advice on what to eat during the event? I have been training on, peeled apples, dates, baananas and potatoe. I snack on these foods when I can during the ride. At service points I will be drinking Endurashake by pace and power, and in my camelbak I am using cytopower. at the end of each day I will use usn recover max. IS there anything else I am missing out on? Are there any more foods that are good sources of energy to eat during the event? Any more advice about nutrition or recovery is more than welcome. Thanks
