Event Name: Mahala Magic MTB Race - SA's First FREE Mountain Bike Race When: 8 October 2016 Where: Cowhouse Market, Hazeldean, Gauteng Category: MTB It is official... the very first free MTB race in South Africa will take place in Gauteng on the 8th of October. 1500 riders will have the opportunity to join this event with all the bells and whistles of a proper mountain biking event BUT without paying a cent entry fee! Event Name: Cullinan 2 Tonteldoos MTB Ultra (260km) When: 14 April 2017 Where: Start at Piacere Restaurant (Cullinan) - Finish in Tonteldoo, Gauteng Category: MTB The Cullinan2Tonteldoos MTB Ultra Single Stage event will take riders and their support crews over 260km of unmarked district roads from Cullinan in Gauteng to Tonteldoos, a small settlement in the Mpumalanga Highlands. All riders who complete the distance in 24 hours will receive a medal. The final cut-off will be after 27 hours. The finish of the race will form part of the festival activities at the annual Tonteldoos Highlands (Scottish) Festival. Go to Event Page

  19. The 1000D Lite is substantially more expensive than the Spectra so that means the Spectra is better value for money, right?

  21. The TFS800 and Spectra is in the same pricing bracket. I must admit I favor the Spectra but I want to make sure I get the best value for my money. The GT is also a nice bike but I am not sure which model is equal to the Spectra.

  23. I want to buy a new MTB in January and got the short list down to the Silverback Spectra and the Merida TFS 800. Which one would be the better buy?
  24. I also think Salomon is very overrated. Very clever brand marketing made them the most popular there are other brands available that are a lot more comfortable and offers way more value for money. Brand is always a personal thing but I think Inov8 is the best trail running shoe on the market currently.
  25. I know the Running Inn in Hatfield, Pretoria sells the Inov8 shoes. They are truly amazing shoes. Super light and very comfortable.
