  1. It was good fun! Would have liked a smaller sprocket on the back for more top end and as Stretch mentioned some suspension would have been lekker for the bumpy stuff.... But overall enjoyed it thoroughly! Thanks to all involved. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks Gents, SS it is then! Looking forward to it, see you out there on the trail! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Face Plant, Any idea on what the total ascent will be on the 70? I did it on my SS a few years ago when it started near the Lido and loved it, just want to make sure I am not making a school boy error riding it in the SS again with the route change? (NB - I checked the map but couldn't see any profile/ ascent figures) Thanks
  4. My trusty SS in the surroundings it enjoys.....
  5. Solomons in Woodmead also has them in stock.
  6. Kulhavy's 2014 weapon of choice.....Clearly he doesn't like sitting much!
  7. At what point does multiple plugs in a tyre start affecting the performance of a tyre or is it just the eye sore of seeing the bulging brown goo that should make you put on a new one?
  8. Hi Guys, Does anyone have a 70km gps file for a MTB ride in Clarens. Obviously the MTN series marathon route would be great, however I would think that would go through private farms which would make it not accessible for this coming weekend. Alternatively if there is anyone doing a 70km this weekend there that knows their way around, I would like to join you if possible? Thanks
  9. Thanks again for all the input!
  10. Thanks for all the advice. I will definitely give the seatpost a try, I was just nervous that the carbon seatpost might break or break the frame?
  11. Hi Hubbers, I have recently bought the Tork Craft Bicycle repair stand to do minor work on my MTB. I have a carbon frame which is pretty thick and I cannot get the frame clamp from the stand to hold the bike firmly and it keeps working its way loose and almost falling out the stand. The clamp has red "boots" that hold the frame but they are at the wrong angle( the 90* clamp angle sits on the flat top tube part of the frame and not on a corner where it would hold firmly). I also obviously don't want to over tighten the clamp and damage the frame. I know I probably should have spent 3/4 times more and bought a Park Tool stand, however if someone has a clever suggestion to make this work I would appreciate it! Thanks
  12. Have you tried Morningside Cycles in Sandton?
  13. How about a 7:00 start, meet at Holla? I will be in a Silve X3 with GP number plates. Private message me if you need directions to Holla?
  14. I am also up from JHB and looking at riding at Holla on Saturday morning(21/12/13). Looking to do 45/50km if any other Hubbers are keen to meet up and turn the legs let me know?
  15. Whattingh, you are correct that I saw that article, but he too has no solution other than "buy a new rack"
