  1. Ask them to send you photographic proof as someone may have jacked your plates.
  2. Insane - I bought 3 for about R40 each. I admit that they weren't plated with gold like the above.
  3. Did the give you a speech about fixing recommended retail? I thought their latest tune was to match prices - you'd think that they'd start amongst themselves. Maybe the reason is that the salemen get commission - basically the difference between an amount the store will accept as a minimum and the price tag. Feel free to negotiate all you want.
  4. Don't they publish the results - number, name and time? Get the name, cross reference with phone book. You can approach the person yourself which may be dodgy if he actually stole your bike or you could lay theft charges with all the details. Probably lay the charges - it isn't up to you to decide his guilt. There is a legal system for that. Yes - he may be innocent but the law protects you too and the inconvenience that he may go through is one of those small prices. If insurance paid out then the bike belongs to them - maybe you could let them know and have them pusue their recovery
  5. Phoned to book two in today - they can only take them next week and it only takes a day to service. Thanks to this thread (and others) I'll pay special attention for when they return and I'll take photos of the frame before hand.
  6. Good on you - I really think that this did way more good than harm. Whether you would have had better outcome with just a fax will remain one of life's mysteries. Tomorrow I take 2 of the 3 bikes I bought earlier this year in for their 'free' services. I'll be using your experience to make sure that things are right before I do the origami stunt of reloading bikes back onto my car.
  7. Pod people have invaded west Africa
  8. No worries But proof that you sent an email is not proof that it was received - only that it reached some point. A fax has to have gone to a specific number. As for being better - registered mail ftw
  9. So what? The receipient can decline to acknowledge receipt.
  10. I am pretty sure that you can get bombs from a liquor store - they use them in soda fountains.
  11. Big up to organisers of the event. Hope the folk who took tumbles are okay.
  12. Surely you should report it at Parkview SAPS
  13. Oh, we could go on all day. Fact - homeopathic 'medicine' is about taking a substance that causes the same symptoms as an actual ailment, diluting it to a ridiculous degree and whacking it 10 times with a padded stick. You think it works - literally. This is known as the placebo effect.
  14. Not my anecdotal evidence - but rather scientific evidence. The fact that many people use them and that they are widely available doesn't make the homeopathic remedy have any physiological effect in the slightest. And many pharmacies sell perfumes, crockery, and cuddly toys. Not too sure how those help you get better.
