  1. Also consider the Morewood Kwela! I think that is going to be my next MTB
  2. I am by no means an expert on this subject but I can tell what everybody else is going to say: Go for test rides and take the bike you are most comfortable with. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it is sound advice.
  3. Goodday fellow hubbers Just want to check if any of you have had any experience with an Eddy Merckx EM1? Saw it in green today and drooled all over the shop floor! Thanks lads
  4. Soz this is a bit off-topic but what are your thoughts and experience with the S1? Looking into getting one myself. Shot
  5. MTB's on the road. Quite keen to try out some of the established venues, just need to get back in the saddle as work has been very hectic since Jan. How technical are these venues?
  6. A mate and I are also keen to start cycling during the week as things should quite down a bit from next week work-wise. During weekends we usually start off at the Wedge shopping centre on Rivonia, head into Sandton and cycle down to William Nicol, from there its either right to Monte Casino or left to Hyde Park (both routes have a nice hill or two) and from there we usually wing it trying to hit as many hills as possible. Usually a 2 hour ride +-40km including to compulsary coffee break
  7. Noooooooooo! Moving that weekend. Maybe its a blessing in discuise as I still need ot work on my swimming, dont want to get pulled out of the water during my first event
  8. When is the next event? Would like to give it a go!
  9. As a complete newb, I still vote no. Reason being that I know I am a bad swimmer but this encourages me to work really hard on it. Also the reason I am still to attempt my first tri, need to get better at swimming first.

  11. Holla gents So I have been eyeing (spelling??) this bike for a while now -http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=57661 want to get some feedback from any De Rosa riders out there. Suggestions for alternatives are welcome (lets try keep it italian ) Shot!
  12. My vote still is with the Proteas!! Altough Smith was tacticaly very good today, he def missed a trick when he had to pace bowlers on at the same time. Might not be bad for us to lose a game at this stage of the tournament, hopefully this will serve as a wake up call.
  13. Bit of a newb here but I love the look of this Merida http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_gb/bike/2011/148/Triathlon+Bike/TIME+WARP+4 Any idea of retail price?? Shot
  14. Holla gents So the time has come for me to take my personal fitness to a new level (call it a late new year's resolution)and thus I have decided to start doing a few sprint distance tri's this year and hopefully build-up to longer events next year. So I need some advise from the more experiences tri athletes: where to start? I am in decent shape (cycle about 80km's every weekend and do a lot of other sports in between) but I do not know what to expect. So here is my gameplan for the time being: At the moment I know I am not a strong swimmer, so I had a chat with a swimming coach to help improve my strokes and basic shape in the water. So the plan is to train my swimming pretty hard until I can swim 800 meters without too much discomfort. Any suggestions regarding training and equipement? Shot
  15. Jip, have all the gear. Looking at the Scott CR1 team, the Fuji SST3 has also caught my attention but I am a bit unfamiliar with the Fuji bikes
  16. Okay I know these questions have a habit of popping up and can be quite annoying. So I am a bit of a weekend mtb'er and have decided to take cycling a bit more serious and branch out to road cycling. So ja after numerous hours trolling the net and cycleshops I am no closer to making a decision. Thus I ask for your suggestions (looking to spend 18 - 20k on a complete setup: Roadbike). Shot
