  1. Thanks IanJ for providing your experiences. Its good for healthy debate to have experiences from both sides of the coin.

I don't know why bikes are such a complicated thing, maybe there are just too many business owners that think it is an easy industry and because the customer can be so easily misled?
  2. I have heard similar stories of other bike chain stores (who have just opened up in Roodepoort as well as moving to new premises in Fourways), who will buy a bike, then build it up with different specs to the ones from the bike manufacturer. Therefore the unwitting customer trying to compare apples with apples chooses the 'better' pricde, except it doesn't come with standard components!

  3. Actually I'm not that bad, I can deal with it being there (for the length of time it takes for it to be carried outside!) without screaming, but you wouldn't catch ME taking it out!

When B had it on the feather duster, it started walking down the pole towards him, looked him in the eye, and turned around and went back to the feathers!
  4. Forgot to post yesterday.

    Picture the scene, Monday morning.

Stumble out of bed, manouvre around the various cats and dogs sprawled all over the bedroom and go and make coffee and tea.

    Return to bedroom

Try not drop cups whilst I stifle a scream!

This 'darling' had snuck in overnight and was 'hanging around' above the dresser! Thank goodness he/she wasn't over the bed!

Look at those evil eyes! My hubbie obligingly jumped out of bed, picked it up on a feather duster, told me how beautiful it was (!) and took it outside.

I swear if it comes back it's future will not be so bright!
  5. Heeheehee! No, I have a stage race pack that lives in my Camelpak that includes:

    Brake pads

    Duct tape

    Spare tube

    Stan's repair kit

    Powerlinks

    Spare cleat screw

    Chain lube

    Multitool

    Spare seat clamp

    Cable ties

    Space blanket

    Swabs

    Savlon

    Plasters

    Antihistamine

    D'ya think I missed anything?!!
  6. HR, we'll DEFINITELY get along! My Camelbak is armd with lube, powerlinks, small medic kit, and other various parts (don't forget duct tape!)

But I have a question to ask that might make or break this budding friendship... what lube do you use? Exclamation
  7. Seriously, the only solution that I have used successfully is getting off the bike to relube, but this was a river crossing on a 70km stage, so I wasn't racing for a win...
