  1. Thanks, the pictures really don't do it justice. My Grand Carrera was stolen and underinsured, I got lucky with a good insurance broker who managed to get me a decent payout, this coupled with a good discount from the dealer and I had to take the plunge. Oh, it cost me a set of diamond earrings for the wife too, happy wife, happy life.
  2. I just bought the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Calibre 8500 on the weekend, no bike upgrades for a while but a beautiful watch. http://forums.watchuseek.com/attachments/f67/459966d1308901788-6-month-review-omega-aqua-terra-calibre-8500-dsc00978.jpg http://forums.watchuseek.com/attachments/f67/459960d1308901428-6-month-review-omega-aqua-terra-calibre-8500-dsc00976.jpg
  3. I think it's perfect timing, did it last year before IMSA and it was a great hit out to judge fitness and what you need to work on. I did 3 big blocks, one before prestige ultra, another before buffels and then the final block before IMSA. No real taper before prestige or buffels. No long ride or run can replicate 5-6 hours incorporating each discipline + transitions at race pace. Rest on the Sunday and Monday and start your final block on the Tuesday.
  4. Impressive service guys, the stuff was at my desk within 24 hours of ordering, will be trying out some of the mounts river rafting this weekend, hoping they hold but will tether just in case!
  5. I sent an email and was called back pretty much immediately, I ordered a few things, will give feedback but very efficient so far.
  6. I have the time trial saddle and no complaints, it replaced the fizik that came with my cervelo, I thought I was comfortable on the fizik after many miles but wanted to see what all the fuss was about, noticed a huge difference in comfort. I got it a few months before IMSA last year and it took no time at all to get used to (although I would recommend a bit of chamois butter the first time). I got mine online at www.trybikestore.co.uk and it was a lot cheaper than Troi, free delivery and duties were only R77 (although it was during the post office strike so that may have been a lucky mistake). You wont look back
  7. Being aero is the most important thing you can do When choosing a flavour of Gu don't go on taste but rather on the highest caffeine content Anything made of carbon is a necessity Always carry at least 4 bottles of nutrition on the bike
  8. I have the GSC10 speed/cadence sensor and all I've done is put a small, reasonably strong magnet (around the size of a 10c piece) from an old fridge magnet onto where the pedal screws into the crank arm. Fits snuggly and works perfectly. Give it a try.
  9. Hey SVan, Do you remember Rich from varsity? Is a great guy, many a beer was had at the Rat & golf club with him, will be donating through the site. Terrible tragedy.
  10. What is the ballpark price of accommodation and race entry?
  11. Try 'Design in Motion' in Morningside shopping centre, they had last time I was there, not sure about sizing etc.
  12. www.5150.co.za
