  1. Whats up with that? I ordered items from CW cycles on Thurs 16 Dec and I had it in my hands on the monday (20th). The same day (16th) I orderd a ton of kit from Wear Direct and I am still waiting for it. They did not answer my emails and when I phoned, the phone just rang. They did not even put a reply to say they are closed and give a date when they will open. What crap is that. If you want to have a online shopping website you need to deliver. Not shut down for the holidays.
  2. Agreed. I have recently been following ladies racing and they race very hard when racing against each other. Its constant attacking but with the men its going to be wheel sucking. No tactics. I would say, ladies race with men in provincial races and against each other at national level. This way the ladies get stronger racing against the guys at provincial level and get to use that improvement agaist each other at the national classics. does that not sound very resonable?
  3. Dude! I don't agree with what you saying. I know for a fact the riders who did a 2:51 got dropped early in the race and sat in a mens group. They would have been a lot more than 6min behind
  4. I totally agree with what you are saying here! As the darkhorse also stated, riders need to race in Europe to improve. Look at Ashley Moolman. Her ability sky rocketed when she relocated to Europe.
  5. Hi, I emailed Cisca yesterday and she said that the racing snakes will need to take a full racing license if they want to race in Cat 2 or 3. Cat 1 is for registered teams. If you have a Cyclelab seeding of 6.8 then you would be a racing snake :-) Also, the license is R425. R75 CSA membership plus R350 racing license.
  6. For all those wondering... these are the new rules http://www.cyclingsa.com/App_Resources/Uploads/FILE00000154.pdf
  7. Hi Mallo, Are you involved in CSA? Mayeb you can answer these questions as well... Will the Cat 1, 2 and 3 be only full racing license holders or will this include the R75 guys? Also will the bunches be limited by a riders ceeding index. ie. Cat 2 rider ceeded under eg 25? Cat 3 riders ceeded over 25 Cheers
  8. MMMMmmm... this is a topic that could get many different interpretations and opinions... The regulations will make racing much harder and improve cycling. But! its going to make access to racing for individuals a bit impossible in the Cat 1 bunch. Also, I have heard from one of the ladies Pro teams that they are worried about thier sponsorships because ladies racing will no longer exist with the new regulations. Ladies will be racing against men for cat 2 placings and there will be no age categories for the ladies over age of 30. In my opinion this regulations are beneficial to the guys and not for the gals. It will no doubt make the ladies race harder but it will not be a ladies against ladies race. It will be one who hangs onto a guys wheel the longest who beats the other ladies. Also, the vet men 50+ what will happen to thier racing. These guys are also very competitive and now they going to have to race agaist younger riders and not rider of thier own age. In the early 90's there was a similar system in place where there was A,B and C category racing. Its did not work and was canned after 6 months. I would love to hear what race organisers have to say about the new regulations and how it affects them.
  9. I am a poor cyclist... don't have DSTV. Only watch Pedal Talk on SABC2
  10. If they want riders up to international standards then put them on a plane to go live and race in europe... racing in SA is not going to help. Look at Robbie, John-lee and Daryl. They would not be the riders they are if they lived in SA.
  11. AH, wait till you guys see the new CSA regulations for categories for the races for 2011...
  12. Ja, R350 for a license that will only get you on the start line of SA Champs is a rip off... Why not have one license one price for everyone... easy to control and more income for CSA.
  13. Best to ask your local cycleshop for a test saddle. I have waisted too much money on buying saddles that are not comfy. I know Specialized have got test saddles available at dealers
  14. MMMmmmmmm... best is to just ride your bike and enjoy it with your friends...
  15. Try Alexander Forbes.... have had no problems with claims at all
