  1. Ok... Well that is the reason then... As soon as we order parts from CRC and it is more than about R5k, they allways add duties as well... We always structure our orders between 3k and 5k... Free shipping and only VAT and clearance fee. Did not know that customs would differenciate between frames and other parts.
  2. If your frame is more than a certain amount, around R5k, you will also pay duty. This has been my experience with lots of CRC orders.
  3. Maybe consider this one... I have used some other parts of the same brand and very happy with it! http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mobile/MobileModels.aspx?ModelID=51272
  4. Sorry for the late reply CAAD 4.... Johann Bornmann from Yellow Saddle took the lowers off for me... I then took them to Annette who did the paint... I bought some crappy decals (didn't know much about which decal's work well and which didn't) and it did not look too nice so in the end, Annette airbrushed the FOX decals for me and I have to say it was a job really well done! Her prices are also very reasonable. She also did a friend of mine's Marzocchi as well as his wife's Specialized S-Works HT Frame...
  5. I am no pro, but this is how we train for TB. We do about 30 daily and then longer rides over weekends... If you are in Gauteng then hit Suikerbosrand for some good climbing although it is on tar... We also do from Schoemanskloof to Lydenburg in Mpumalanga... Some 2350m ascents over 100km. Great training... Also do long distances on bad dirt roads to get used to the surface and get some distance in your legs... Try to find a balance between climbing and distance and to increase both on every weekend ride... Pace yourself well during the race
  6. Contact Annette at Cycledelic... she uses an airbrush and does an amazing job... 083 5541810 She is busy with my Fox atm... will post pics when she's done... I have seen Specialized carbon frames that she has painted that looks amazing!!!
  7. Nope unfortunately not Capricorn... I do however have an older Genius MC... Very happy with it but its not an AM rig...
  8. How about a Scott Genius LT10? The right head tube angle and up to 185mm adjustable travel? http://www.scott-sports.com/gb_en/product/11260/64183/221734
  9. Weather was extremely cold last year hehe... Was an excellent race though. Make sure you pack dry clothes in your boxes... You have to organise accommodation yourself and you will have to do it soon since Willowmore is quite small... I also hope it is not necessary to do the Langsbaviaans this year hehe... Groot rivier poort is nie jou maat nie!
  10. Looks awesome... pity about the short notice... will try and do it next year...
  11. I am running 2 2.2 race kings... Not bad at all, but I want to try Schwalbe Racing Ralph TL Ready... Anyone using these?
  12. I'll second going to Johan... www.yellowsaddle.co.za.
  13. You can also contact Ian or Paul at Pro Cycles in Benoni... They have week and weekend, road and mtb rides... www.procycles.co.za for contact details.
  14. If your order is R5k or more you will pay a lot of duties... on an order of less than 5k only VAT and a R80 admin fee... Order more than 3k and shipping is free... I have ordered from them a lot and I have to say that out of about 10 orders I only had issues on 2 which their customer service department always sorted out.
  15. Looking forward to it!!! Loved the 2011 TB!!!
