so if i go buy a bike with these parts on already...do i just pay in the difference for the upgrades or how does it usually work, i dont want to be ripped off.

@Raab..I guess your right, bike shops tend to lead you in their direction though (my personal experience of 1)

@Hefty..Shimano Deore LX, SuntourX100 Shocks.. I will continue to ride Xc and a couple of MTB events, max 60-80kms

i currently have a Mongoose Meteore Comp, would like to upgrade. Can spend 12k. Any suggestions out there, I think i will stick with hard tail for now...GT zaskar, Merida, Scott..??? im confused.
