  1. I thought the small screws were only to set your top and bottom limits
  2. I have taken a spacer out of the right side ( chain ring side ) of my crank assembly, I accidently put it in but my Bb shell is 75mm and the spacer was for a 68mm. When It was in I sent it to the bike shop to set the indexing, but then after removing the spacer ,naturally the chain rings will be 5mm closer to the shell so my front derailleur is not laying directly over the chain rings when I change gears. I can take it back to have set but I would like to know how to do it myself. It's an XT groupset , IF it makes a difference.
  3. This is mine and I love it.
  4. Damn right , and it's great!
  5. The people who don't deal with these companies, won't know. To them the truth is what the pimple face techie told them in the bike work shop. I have to laugh!!
  6. Awesome thanks.
  7. where have you been?
  8. Absolutely, what's more is that all the Chinese plants work to ISO and Euro standards these days where the must have the proper testing done. If they don't, they close. People stop being so naive. I'm really sorry that some people have paid R14 000 extra on a carbon frame for a name.
  9. Can anybody tell me where the best place is to service a DT swiss fork? I heard there was a guy in Durbanville , does anybody have his details?
  10. Anybody can make even an aluminium frame look like that if you don't know how to ride. So 29"Man, Even if you had a Tungsten bike and you land front wheel first off a bridge, It's going to break, Just glad it's not one of mine. By the way did you drop your lipstick in the fall ??
  11. Just as a matter of interest. I want to know what the most popular is? Please don't answer on this page but rather mail or PM me. castaway1@xsinet.co.z It won't take long. What size frame would you buy next? 29er / 26er Would you buy a taper head or straight? Would you want a BB 30 or STD.1.37" would you buy carbon or aluminium? Would it be road or Mtb? Dualie or hardtail? I want to get an idea of what the rider wants Thank you Alec black
  12. Sorry !!! Audio Slave
  13. ANYTHING by RATM. They are ******* rad. For those who did'nt know, Rage against the machine became Sound Garden with Chris Cornell when Zack de la rocha left.I think, correct me if I'm wrong
  14. I get what most of you are saying, I run a manufacturing business. When we have few orders or contract to finish we don't send the staff home or stand around , we also make our own lines to sell. It's not easy to then say "oh well it's for us so we will work ***!". You get used to working at a certain standard and stick to it.
  15. online @ R6500 per frame are you interested in some pics?
  16. I'm with you brother, i just want to sell these frames so that i can build my 29er
  17. Can anyone please tell me why we shy away from "Chinese" frames? We can't all be so ignorant to think that any bikes are made in any other country except china with their unbeatable labour rate.We all know that Fender strats are made in china now. Many people are going to say "the quality is not good" How do you keep getting contracts from 'Brands' if your quality does not meet their original standards?? I am currently buying frames from a company in China and I've become friendly (not in that way guys) with the person who answered my inquiry email to them. I've asked her who else their company make frames for and they include, among other, Specialized, KHS and JB (american I think). Now I don't understand, they use the latest technology, materials and testing specs, but when they don't have contract to fulfill instead of laying off 100 people they make their own moulds and make frames because that's what they do! In fact I searched the internet and found the KHS that uses the same frame as I'm buying to sell in SA but as soon as someone hears 'china' then we all run a mile. Do yourself a favour, go to your bike, If any stickers are stuck over the spray job with no laquer, then, yes! it was probably made in China or Taiwan. So if anybodys got an answer please reply.

  20. I'll have another look at the design, thanks for the input. I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison
  21. Thanks man, I'll try to get hold of him and keep you posted
  22. I didn't want to go for the 'out there' designs. these are the ones that need all the stress tests because most of them are sort of 'y' shaped. bicycle shape and geometry is very conventional and to change something that already works.... Why ???? As I said before I want to balance strength, cost and geometry. I don't want to re invent the wheel guys.
  23. I agree but the strut is there for strength and support, ibis didn't put it there for show, So neither am I. That is the only similarity, also My tube profile is Tri-lobal and about 45-50mm in diameter.
  24. Whatever
  25. Thank you Appreciate it.
