  1. Exactly the same with me, I thought the N14 was going to be a breeze and that I will sit in the hive all the way home and recover my lost 2 minutes I was trailing the split with but the whole thing fell apart on the second hill... MIssed a sub 3 with 14 seconds in the end.
  2. Started in F - experienced the same... Where were all the other 20 000 riders? I did the whole thing on my own with everybody else being either too fast to follow or to slow to trail...!
  3. According to my friend who stays in Kyalami there were still lots of cars parked on the fields early this morning... Perhaps nobody wanted them?
  4. Urgh... That's even worse man. A friend of mine did a 3:00:00 once...
  5. And here's the thing: I started with the initial load and sprinted by bum off to stay on the start line with every start group shift forward. Every time I got to the front, there were more and more riders from the same group who slipped through to the starting groups in front and fell back until our group came up. They should change the rules: If you miss your load you load only in the next available load, no loading passed the current loading group. Simple?
  6. Well, they do have all the data and it is a matter of how to display it. I think to be fair, there should be two categories, one actual time (mat to mat) and one group time (gun to mat).
  7. Yes indeed, as mentioned I did a 3:00:14
  8. They pick up your start group where you actually started in somehow...
  9. Oh I hope they reduce it by 15 seconds, my time is 3:00:14...
  10. Um, what does 2013 CITY on the medal mean?
  11. As far as I know the clock starts as soon as the bunch is set off and not when you cross the first timing mat...
  12. N14? The faster you go the more you sweat the cooler it gets...
  13. Why does the man pause before the lightning hits?
  14. When looking at these stats and considering the facts stated by previous respondents there could be problems with this system as: 1) The wind direction gust caused by passing vehicles would cause a wind knock to the cyclist 2) The dilemma of pedestrians not knowing to step left or right of an oncoming bicycle (and neither would the cyclist) 3) The simple law of the road dictates that all traffic moves in the same direction as to avoid any confusion I believe there is a lot of merit when it comes to mountain biking on the opposite side of the road off the shoulder (with a 1000+ lumen flasing light) which is perhaps a step closer to proving your point, but only in this instance.
  15. But then nobody will go to the cycle expo...?
