  1. Just uploaded some data onto Pro Trainer and pushed the update tab out of habit............ there is a new update!! don't know what changed yet!!! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> PS. when I open an exercise you get the graph and mine has a HR axis and time axis... how can i change the time axis to distance?
  2. Hi I have a Polar 725x which I love!!! I enjoy loading my data onto the web and joining various challenges on poloarpersonaltrainer website. I would also like to get a Garmin to track the routes i'm riding. Is the polar HR strap compatable with Garmin? Can I ride with one strap and have my HR on the Polar and garmin? Thanks
  3. anybody got a pic of the stop sign on the red route?
  4. mmm tips? Take a camera!!! get a map from the little hut where you buy the permit and take it with you. Enjoy the view from the picnic table.... some climbing ahead! It took us 2h45min which included a stop at the picknic table and a chat with Leon Evans who we cycled into on some awesome single track.
  5. What an AWESOME ride!!!<?: prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /> <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> We arrived in Plett on Saturday afternoon and booked into the Harkerville Forest Lodge. We went for a quick cycle up the road and discovered that we can jump onto the red route for some awesome single track to the Garden of Eden and then back on the tar for 3km to our accommodation. (40min) On Sunday morning we cycled from the Lodge to the start of the red route at Garden of Eden (3km from accommodation) We stopped at the Sasol and bought some sweets for the road, then followed the N2 to the Garden of Eden where we bought the permits (R25pp). The route is awesome.... I'll say it again.... it is a awesome cycle. The route is very very well maintained and well marked we had no problems. I would recommend this ride to anybody!!!
  6. I saw one in the new bicycling mag, looks very neat. Wont mind one on my bike.
  7. I never thought that browsing a forum is such a fantastic spectator sport
  8. you can try any computer shop.
  9. I wasn't going to pay R600 or R700 for a polar IR so I bought a generic one for R100 and it works 100%. You don't need the polar IR.
  10. On a recent trip my tires where pumped at 8bar in PE. I flew to JHB with the bike and from JHB to Germany. When I got of the plane in Munich I took the bike out of the bike box and onto a bike rack and took a rental to Austria (Klagenfurt). Before my cycle the next morning I check the pressure and it was still 8 bars. I have the normal conti's on my bike. Maybe they didn't pop 'cos it was a Scott...... I paid R200 per bike from PE - JHB (SAA) and R250 JHB - Munich. Back I only paid 50euro's for 2 bikes, Munich - PE.
  11. Dun Man <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I just went overseas with 2 bikes. I had one in a bike box and one in a cardboard bike box that I got from a cycle shop. Both bikes made the trip and survived. Rather put your bike in a box and tape it up. Go to the bike shop and ask for a new bike box, they usually have in the back if they build-up new bikes to sell. Ask for the spacers for your forks when you take the wheels of and the wrapping that the original bike in the box came with. Take your pedals of and maybe your rear derailleur, just unscrew it and wrap it up so that it doesn't scratch your frame during transit. I flew SAA national and international and didn't have any problem. I got charged R200 per bike national and R250 per bike international.
  12. Yip like I said I won't mind a garmin but can't part with my polar.... swapping bikes with the garmin is efffordless and I forget sometimes to switch the polar settings to bike 1 and 2. I also want a garmin...but won't swop my polar for one... Siggie you mus try SportsTracks like 1J said. It's awesome one of the guys a t work downloaded it and hasn't looked back since.
