  1. Thanks everyone for your replies. I bought mine at a very good price when 4iiii introduced them. I sent my SRAM Rival crank to them for installation. Unfortunately they can only replace if i send my crank to them at my cost. Cost of having SRAM i guess. I am not happy to spend the extra money on a courier . After riding with a PM for a while I have come to the conclusion that i don't really need it when on group rides. I only use it properly when doing interval training on the IDT in winter. So I will submit an insurance claim and hopefully they are happy to give me the cash which would help to buy other gear
  2. My Power Meter has recently stopped working. i have had it since 2015 with no problems at all. I changed the battery twice to make sure that it was not a faulty battery. The APP and my Garmin are not picking it up. Does anyone know if power meters can be repaired or not? Thanks
  3. Hi Try ACDC.
  4. I have been looking into this while on lockdown and it looks like a very good option for us at the bottom of the food chain (love cycling, ride 2nd hand bikes, wahoo trainer above my pay grade) According to a few reviews SWIFT will recognize it as a power meter. DCRAINMAKER rated the unit very highly and tested it out of curiosity. In his review the difference were very minor. The cost to bring it over using DHL is more than the cost of the unit. If there was a cheaper I would buy one. The bottom of the range model is around R6000. Will continue to find a cheap way to get to SA. Other option of getting to SA is by going on holiday to Thailand. There is a branch in Thailand.
  5. Maybe I am missing something. I can’t separate raid components from mtb components. I am a roadie and won’t ever look for mtb components. I am looking for a road frame and this can separated between road and mtb when searching.
  6. Getting used to the new way of navigating through the new. Great job. Doesn’t need a manual. Really like the review under the ad. Used to be a tedious affair.
  7. Last night was full moon. Some hubbers turned into werewolves and were howling at the moon
  8. For us who live out of Cape Doctor land entering the CTCC is a gamble. The outcome of the gamble is for the entrants account. I took the gamble in 2009 and 2010 and will not throw the dice again. The shortened race again highlighted the gamble. Should the race have continued and cyclist injured, the organizers would face law suits and and not forgetting angry hubbers posting angry insults at the organizers. It is a beautiful race to do and if I lived in Cape Town I would enter every year cause all it would cost me is race entry. Don't be a sore loser when a gamble does not go your way.
  9. WHAT ARE THE COURIER COST
  10. I ordered the 4iiii directly from 4iii website when they launched their PM which at that time was only available as LHS unit. The sensor can be fixed onto your own crank or you can buy the crank arm/crank from them. They send you a box for your crank with prepaid envelope. You drop it off at EPX (i think it was EPX). Got it back within 8 days. Customs cost R1100.00. Power unit R5600.00 a year ago. 1 year later and still no hassles. Etixx now rides with 4iiii ( just thought that i would add that as cyclist take long to accept new brands).
  11. Awesome news. Well done to Malcolm for keeping the dream alive. Can't be an easy task knocking on corporates doors and trying to convince them to give you money for a sport. The make up of the team is awesome "rainbow nation"
  12. I got mine a month ago. Awesome. They are now up to date with orders. Postage is free. The fedex docs were sent to me, I dropped my crank off at FedEx and picked it up 10 days later. Customs was R1100 PM R5400.00 total R7200. All I had to do was mail a photo of my crank and fill in a diagram with clearance dimensions between crank and frame. So far so good.
  13. Are there any road groups riding in the mornings. Where do they leave from and what time. If I miss the group can you give a brief description of the route. Thanks
