  1. Thanks guys... Appreciate the feedback. So just cycle up to the guy nearest the back & ask if I can join? And with regards cycling at the front... What's the etiquette there? Do I just overtake the guy in front & lead? What about if they're on a pre-planned route that I'm not familiar with?... LOL, can just imagine they all turn off and I just keep on riding
  2. I'm looking for someone who's keen for a 20-30km ride, every or every-other week morning in Port Elizabeth.. Ideally someone in/near the Lorraine area. 7am.. Any takers?
  3. Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but here's what I wanna know.. This Saturday I was taking a breather at a garage, when a group of riders came past - 10 to 15 guys. I figured, why not, I'll join 'em. So I caught up and lurked near the back of the group. Didn't interfere or anything cos I realized I dont know if there's an accepted 'code of conduct' for this kind of thing. What's the etiquette on this? Do I need to ask the guy nearest the back if I can join them? Can I just cycle along with them without having to ask anything? What's the deal?
  4. Not sure... guess it depends how many other riders are using the app in your area... Their app at the moment is purely for tracking.. Doesn't provide much in the way of routes & live maps etc.
  5. Indeed.. I was somewhat skeptical of the accuracy of the Strava app, but was very pleasantly surprised. You can get it for your Android too. The difference between the odometer on my bike's computer and the Strava app was negligible. The summary is really helpful.
  6. Stuart is a friend of mine.. He does wonders with varicose & spider veins.
  7. I use one of these. Works epically. Nice firm case & still lets the touchscreen & buttons work.
  8. Ya there's actually a heap. The web UI and app for Strava was the clincher for me. Spose it's whatever works best for you. Don't wanna spend more time booting up apps, then actually doing a ride
  9. Ya I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the mapping & the distance.
  10. Hiya First time poster. Just started riding last week.. Got the corporate ironman next year in my sights and this is what's gonna get me there Found a really nifty iPhone App which I thought I'd share with ya'll. It actually works on iPhone, Android and with Garmin units. It's called Strava. You start the app, put it away & forget about it until you stop. Then, it sync's with their servers and generates a report like this. Pretty cool
