  1. Suspension to do what with.Big differance between 50kmh flat terrain or downhill with tight turns
  2. I like the giant frame with xt groupset and fox fork.I read that the scott is a fast but uncomfortable ride.XTC is more balanced.Scott comes with good tubeless wheelset.I would build a Carbon frame xtc with 3x10 Xt and Xt brakes ,fox fork and mavic wheelset with continental x king race king combo tyres. All this will cost more ,but then you will have a super bike .The momsen corbon hartail is 25k and is very similar to what i would build anyway
  3. Bruce reynecke cycles needs a mention too .There has to be a reason why they are so busy.Best stocked shop i have ever seen .I bought my first bike from them 15 years ago .Solid friendly people with solid excellent service
  4. + 1
  5. Can you give us the price and wheelset specs.i have a similar decision pending.I have not heard or read a bad comment about a tallboy yet.R27000. for a frame was ,is keeping me back.If SC frame prices were better ??
  6. Start with front shock. pump psi same as your weight and check sag 20% hard 30% soft ,adjust in increments of 10 .Start rebound in the middel ,ride around and adjust. If it kicks it is too much .For rear shock weight X2 psi and adjust again.Rebound setting, the blue lever away from propedal or blue lever opposite air inlet. If you are confused .Front shock should be soft .Rear should be hard
  7. I am saying giant rules .in PTA they are price busting to compete.Anthem is still the best frame in my humble opinion
  8. Make sure you lock your phone when you put it back in your bag ,pocket .A bump switches it off .I was considering a bryton gps but now i only use my bb and endomondo and cateye 80 .I realy dont care to know my heartrate. If you push yourself regularly you will know your body.s limits
  9. wow!i am so excited i won,t be able to sleep
  10. where can i buy one
  11. MTB
  12. Also first crazy croc.I am fit enough to have done the 70km grabadoo on the 31 in good time but found this route disturblingly tough.there were no straight and level areas at all .Rust de winter time was 3h35.72km .Today 25km 1h50.I ran out of time to complete 50km.Had to be back PTA at noon.Very technical .I passed a rider on ss ,i think somebody should go fetch him
  13. I have either on two of the same bikes. Both giant anthem29ers.fox is slightly heavier but solid quality and works well for xc racing .i find the sid better for technical terain.i hope this helps
  14. Please go see a spinal orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon and get a MRI and a opinion from them .Once you are sure it is mechanical backache ,the best is to keep your weight off NB !!!!!! Butt and stomach muscles strong .Hamstrings stretched .No more jogging ,sorry !.Ride as much as you like if your bike fit is good .Check the angle of your saddle.NSAIDS only after exercise if really neccessary.Fiseo,Bio K Chiro can help.Stay away from surgery .All mech backache gets better eventually . Alternate cycling with swimming and gym to balance your musclegroups .Backache sufferer for 30 years and dr for 20 years
  15. It feels and is closer to a gholf grip .So when i ride 6 hours ,i keep thinking of gholf then i don.t get tired at all.It is also a great helmet hook
