  2. Thanks singletrackmind I phoned my LBS and they had min stock, but I'm sure they can make a plan.
  3. Hey all I saw the 2008 Silverback Phoenix in the Bicycling mag and it was reviewed as being pretty sweet. A couple hubbers have mentioned it as well, but does anyone own one or know any more about them? Are their frames decent? I've googled them but being a SA brand its hard to find reviews. Thanks!
  4. The bridge boys?
  5. Can anyone get me the Silverback Phoenix for R4000?
  6. A bit lame but I get what you saying. A bit like Gary Player's: The more I practice the luckier I get.
  7. Sean do you think there is any chance I could find the Silverback Phoenix for R4000? I read the reviews and it did catch my eye!
  8. Oliver that was a beautiful story:) But I get exactly what you trying to say. I also don't want to get something expensive to find that I'm a *** mountainbiker!
  9. Linnega at least you getting your moneys worth when it comes to the shoes!
  10. Hey Oliver I'm in Durbs- what do you think of the GT I posted under 'mtb review please!'?
  11. Is the triangle below the seat post to strengthen the frame? I've seen a few mtbs with frames like this one and wondered why move away from the traditional setup?
  12. Thanks Mintsauce I see what you saying, but for the riding I'm going to be doing as a beginner I think the basic disc brakes should be ok. Its good to know the GT frames are winners!
  13. Well Pappabear I had a Citi Golf thrown at my Schwinn at it survived too!
  14. AWEZZZOME!!!!!
  15. Marius are all GT frames bulletproof, or just the model you bought?
  16. Well Mampara this R4000 bike is kinda the perfect budget for me!
  17. Do cable disk brakes give lots of trouble? Aren't they better than V brakes though?
  18. Hey Slowbee what you think of the bike?
  19. Hey guys I just saw this GT at my LBS and it looked pretty sweet. Following my other posts about getiing my first mtb, is it a winner?

  21. Thanks schauff, will see what my LBS has.
  22. True Slowbee at the end of the day it is all about having a shizz of a time- whether it is on a R4000 bike or a R40000 bike!
  23. Slowbee I've been checking out all the pics in the Bicycling mag and Ride and lots of the pros ride hardtails when they could be riding softtails, so like Fan says I think it is personal choice. Personally though I couldn't afford one and wouldn't want to look out of place with handling on a spanking new fancy full suspension bike!
  24. Fan you are so right! I've got an enrty-level Schwinn road bike and it does the job fine- getting something lighter might make me a bit quicker but I doubt it would improve my performance!
  25. Pappabear I weigh 68kgs- I'm 23, so shouldn't buckle too many rims!
