  1. What interests me is the weight of his bike, not as light as I thought it would be! I imagined it to be like 6kgs. You see all these bikes in magazines boasting sub 6kgs, so I expected he would be riding one of them.
  2. Damn I think you guys are right! I was hoping it would be lighter!
  3. Yang I also like the minimalist look of it. The Defy also looks lekker. 8.1kgs seems to be the weight of all carbon bikes with 105- Raleigh, Scott and GT are all 8.2. I'm just trying to decide which one is 'better'.
  4. Thanks Yang much appreciated!
  5. You think so mampara? They don't have the weight on their website.
  6. Hey guys does anyone know the weight of the below bike. 2009 model. Any any opinions or constructive criticism about it? Its full 105. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_upload_au/bikes/models/zooms/2009/700_tcr_advanced2.jpgkeith2009-01-05 00:28:17

    Truvativ?

Thanks guys! 235g is really quite an impressive weight for such a 'cheap' bar! Did you guys buy yours through Kiwi?

    Truvativ?

Hey guys does anyone have any experience with these bars? I have seen them on Planet X website. They are quite light for the price R487 for 235g! Kiwi I'm sure can help me out as well! http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.za/images/products/teamaerodropbar_large.jpg
  11. Hey mielies I went to them yesterday and their Ultegra HG93 chain was R375!!! From CWC they are R231 (including R50 postage makes it R281- so very different to R375).
  12. Hey guys which online shops could you recommend that are here locally? I am keen to buy a chain so I went to my LBS and was shocked at the price. So I think online is the way to go. I know it is not supposting our local shops (which I always do) but crisis it was like R100 more than online (including postage). Who should I be checking out that are reliable? Thanks.

    New mtb'er

I know 5 grand now sounds like a lot of money for a bike to you, but by buying something semi-descent now you will save yourself big bucks in the long run. Trust me the bug will bite hard and you'll see all these beautiful bikes on the hub and want to upgrade very quickly. Don't worry this is normal Buy something that when you look at it you just wanna ride and go fast! You'll see if you find the bike you love it will live inside, and you'll find yourself just touching it everytime you walk past. This is also normal
  14. BEAUtiful!!! May it bring you hours of bliss and happiness!!!

    Chain Care

    https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=9601&KW=chain+cleaning This will help you.
  18. Johan I know nothing about chains so I am using the internet as a research tool. Going to a bike shop with a little bit of knowledge always helps or you end up spending money on something that you don't need.
  19. Shot!!!
  20. Mampara they don't have chains on their website, any idea where I could check one on the web?
  21. Cool thanks! I'll check shimano's website.
  22. I might be 9-speed but I will conquer the world Is that a shimano chain?
  23. I've just checked their site and it isn't compatable with 9-speed, so that counts that one out!
  24. Mampara can I run a 105 chain on Tiagra?
  25. Thanks guys for the info. I think I shall get a new one for Christmas. Any suggestions as for which one to get? I ride a 2008 Merida with full Tiagra groupset.
