  1. These guys are absolute legends, hubbers should give props where they can! Check out this article, seems their product is getting great airtime. http://www.humanipo.com/news/32004/sa-entrepreneurs-targeting-145000-for-bike-navigation-device/?fb_action_ids=10153212304020720&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%7B%2210153212304020720%22%3A193474400831507%7D&action_type_map=%7B%2210153212304020720%22%3A%22og.likes%22%7D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D
  2. Thanks lads, much appreciated. Yip I am in JHB so will def look into that.
  3. 2003 Renault Clio. Old, boring, unreliable, and my car. The joys. Does any know where I can get hold of some roof racks that fit a Clio *or* or rear panel bike rack solution that is compatiable with this car's horrifically curved window? Sorry to not post this in the classified section--my query goes a bit further than 'wanted', all the way to 'is this even possible'. Cheers lads
  4. I really want to get my dad into cycling. Problem is, he is 6'9". Is there any manufacturer who makes a frame that would fit someone his size? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

    Ride for Sight

Super race, thoroughly well organised. Toilet paper at the start would have been nice, though Thanks to those concerned.
  6. Everyone knows someone. That person smokes the race, training maybe once or twice beforehand. Maybe not sub-3, but a respectable sub-3:30. Damn frustrating. Any war stories?
  7. Thanks a lot, Sandro. Cradle direction it shall be, along Beyers Naude until it changes. Unless other suggestions come in! Cheers
  8. Just moved from CT to JHB. Rode suikerbosrand loop last weekend. For a first ride of the season it is absolutely and utterly 100% unforgivingly punishing. That last hill? Man, oh man. Puts anything in the cape to SHAME. Beautiful place, fully recommend it. But where else do locals head? Please forgive my ignorance; I am brand new and have no idea. Looking for an +-80km'er loop departing from the northern suburbs (parkview, rosebank, thereabouts). Any advice on direction, roads, times, etc would be hugely appreciated. A mate and I ride together and aren't yet fit enough for a group outing. Thanks guys.
  9. The entire concept of the Expo is bizarre. Why not send the race card in the mail? Why force entrants to take time to go to this very poor "exhibition"? I hope the organisers have got a sense of feelings out there from this thread, although I doubt it. The monopoly they foist on participants by subjecting them to real life spam in the form of high pressure, forced advertising in the expo is probably an enormous money spinner. What a load of ****. I dread going to the expo. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoy popping into my LBS where my *choice* determines my being there. Rant for the day done. Haha. Have a wonderful race tomorrow, everyone.
  10. thanks guys, super helpful as always. anyone starting in V? if you are keen to push hard and try do some damage on sunday, catch me in the ugliest kit in the tour (orange sleeveless top) on an RC7000 and we can attempt a vibe good luck all!
  11. Hi all A quick query. I can't seem to find this information anywhere online, although I do remember seeing it somewhere (possibly in print, in which case I'd rightly struggle to Google it). Anyway, in a relatively windless 110km cycle tour, including Boyes Drive, could I get some kind of perspective on what you reckon the various seeded group finishing times will be? Which groups will likely ride sub-3? And sub-4? And sub-5? I'm in V starting at 07h25 and feeling quite strong. Gunning for my fastest yet but I don't wanna build expectations too high, and I'm trying to figure what might be realistic. I realise that this could easily all be thrown out the window due to a variety of (largley) uncontrollables like wind, rain, heat, crashing, mechanical failure, etc. Hoping you have some valuable thoughts!
  12. 4:21 in group ZZ. Any thoughts on what seeding that might give me for next year? Call me stupid, but I can't seem to find out anywhere if there is a credit given to cyclists who ride in groups where the bunch effect just ain't happening! Came 7th in group. Windy, fun day.
