  1. Nice day out. First Mountain bike race so did 50kms and did not have a seeding. It was a great race but there was lots and lots of traffic , too many people and you could not pass. 15,30 and 50 all merged together at the end and it literally came to a stand still. Massive bottle neck ! They will have to have less cyclists or change the route as it made it very frustrating at times.
  2. He he not going to lie this made me laugh. Belated honeymoon trip to Italy beats the Argus route that I do often. Cape Town is beautiful though ! Have spoken to enough cyclists that have ridden there that it is one of the most beautiful places to ride ! Not riding the whole time in Italy so have opted for the expensive hiring bikes option.
  3. Travelling to Lake Como to do some riding with hubby. Any hubbers out there cycled in the area and hired a bike? We are looking between Rental Bike Italy and Lake Como Cycling. Anyone had experience with other companies? If you have not hired but cycled in the area route tips would be appreciated too!
  4. Yeah thats possible and thanks for pointing out as I really couldn't understand how I landed on the tar. Oh well I am sure he never did that on purpose. Bad luck :-(
  5. Rode Cat 3 today. Unfortunately at about 60kms not sure what happened but collided with a bike and crashed. Nothing serious just a graze. I really want to thank the man who basically sacrificed his race to help me up. He lost the group because of me. He paced me back to some people and told him to hang onto my wheel to recover unfortunately never saw him again. Whoever you are thank you ! The rest of the race was just really hard and incredibly windy and hot. Became about just crossing the line.
  6. I was in % which was quite a large group. A group caught % and it became even larger. The roads were too narrow and often riders rode on the wrong side of the road at times very close calls. The gravel was by no means compact the sand was very soft. A lot of riders came off. Marshals were great and start was great but leave the gravel for mountain bike races ! And wider roads or smaller groups.
  7. I actually just had the same problem. All I did was buy a seat clamp working for me and has extra length.
  8. Hi skistar, I looked in my inbox and have not received any PMs . Would you mind emailing me on lchaitman@gmail.com Hope you guys still need members
