If you are on a motor bike or bicycle, you are the more vulnerable one and should be much more defensive in your approach to the road. What would be the best way to address an offending fellow road user but without the rage and personal attacks?

I did not see it, as my magazine was water damaged. The delivery guys keep throwing it in the front yard, in stead of in the suitable letter box. About this, I have complained in writing more than once and they have replaced the damaged magazine, but again threw it on the paving this month and the spine and back was smudged. I was not going to bring this up in the thread, as it would have seemed like I am just fetching another stick to beat with. So no, I did not see it. So the swearing could easily have been missed, but the double "zap" caught my attention, offended and was not what I wanted to see in my Bicycling magazine. The editor can decide what direction he wants to take with the magazine. An apology would show that he agrees that a line was crosses and that it won`t happen again, or no response and/or clarification and the paying customer must make up his/her own mind.

Name is actually Dutch...spelling Kukemur. It can only be offensive if you speak and understand Afrikaans and you have associated the word or parts of the word with something derogatory or foul. See what can happen when your mind gets clouded..?

Yes, within reason. The point being that you would expect distasteful content in certain magazines and programs, but Bicycling Magazine, previously "clean" have now made a turn that is not suitable for readers who still try to keep a modicum of decency in their everyday lives.

I am subscribed, so did not actively go and buy the magazine. In a client centric environment it makes good sense to respond to client feedback. Very few clients takes the time and makes the effort to complain, even fewer compliment. This "issue" could easily have been turned positive with a sympathetic response, whether sincere or not. But ignoring creates a "do not care" perception.

Hi PS. I came here as I received no response from the magazine or it`s editor after having written them twice in the space of a week. Not even a receipt to say that they are attending to my mail or so... I therefor get the impression that they consider my objection as trivial.
