  1. Hi Guys I Was riding in the cradle this weekened there is boards up saying there is a race on 27th Apr 2014 what race is this? 2. In my opinion Self Defence is esential not only on cycling but part of everyday life in South Africa. Learn diffrent styles and diffrent ways of deffending yourself. Self defence normally you don't have any time to think just react. Therfore veryimportnat while riding, walking or running be vigilant and aware of your surroundings all the time. If you are expecting someone to attack at any time you are prepared and will stay cool headed to react to any and all situations. Most importantly in any situation if possible avoid confrontation and run or ride away if you can. If not Cyclist/MTB riders have some of the best weapons on them at all times there bikes and there cleats sometimes hand pumps you'll be surprised how it hurts if you get hit in the face with the drinking part of a water botel even your cycling helmet can be used as an effective weapon. Golden Ruel be prepared know your enviroment trust your gutt. Drive safe and have fun any training is better than none

    Transcape

Hi Guys While everyone has Cape Epic fever have a look. If you havn't heard yet end of Mar 2014 entries open to a new race in the 2015 MTB race calender. The Transcape race it's a 7 day stage race on the Garden Route from Knysna to Stellenbosch. 7 to 14 Feb 2014 for more info check out the Trancape Facebook Page or Twitter @TranscapeMTB15 http://transcapemtb.co.za/ Sounds like a whole lot of fun and for those brave enough to do Transcape and if you want very good warm up before the 2015 Cape Epic why not look at this race. Cheers Martin Vos
  4. Hi Guys I havn't done epic yet but did Cape Trek last year Good advise Max & Ariane gave me take spare cycling shoes with for wet days so at least you have dry shoes every day. Also when you take shower get in the shower with your clothes on and while you wash you can "stomp" your clothes and wash it that way. It works as well just pain when it's raining to get your kit dry again. Spares take as much as you can stick in your kit as at the event the guys doing bike service charge premium price for parts and you'll pay if you dont have a choice. Rather take to much than to little. My 10 Cents hopefully one day soon I'll ride Epic too (When my ship comes in)
