im currently riding xt brakes. really easy to maintain and set up and great stopping power. had juicy 7s on my last bike but prefer the feel of shimano hands down...

sram works on a 1:1 ratio. shimano is 1:2. basically uve got to pull twice as much cable to get the sram derailleur the same distance as the shimano derailleur.

i wish i could put campy back on my road bike this shimano stuff is jst horrible!

how about a compromise. a shroud stops the mud and doesnt make it look like ure trying to pedal a motorbike.

now thats a seriously cool couch...

try the easton orion wheels. know a couple of guys around your weight ridin them. one of the guys hits every 2nd pothole in jhb and they're still true as can b.
