  1. I'm riding this shell for the winter here in CT. http://www.assos.com/en/19/singleProduct.aspx?cat=6,19,28&prod=382 And this jersey for the cool mornings. http://www.assos.com/en/19/singleProduct.aspx?cat=6,19,25&prod=166 Was gonna go white, but figured it would get messed up and not be able to clean it with the roads sometimes being a bit wet as well as the slight drizzle we sometimes get. Should I go white or black? Thoughts on the gear? I'm new to cycling and to Cape Town (1yr) but am pretty addicted to the sport and train 5 times/week. I am adding knee warmers and long finger gloves to my kit for cooler days. I don't have arm warmers or a gillet yet. Seems I should get some or do you think that the new jersey and rain/wind jacket will be good enough?
  2. So what are the essential pieces for riding through the Cape Town winter?
  3. I had some top level Cape Storm bibs. After about 5 months of 4-5 rides a week, any ride over 2 hours was just painful. I now ride Assos Mille and love it. Well worth the money. I hear the Uno's are also a real nice choice and are less money. Spend money on your bib shorts and you'll be a happier rider.
  4. Yes. Best advice is go to your trusted bike shop.
  5. Suppies are like a pyramid. The base of your pyramid should be your multi-vite, followed by a good protein-carb drink, followed by the extras like glutamine or creatine or whatever. Glutamine is good stuff though. Highly recommended. I load it for 5 days at 3 or 4 servings of 5g. Then take 1 serving right after training, and 1 about 20 min before bed.

    Argus H group

Yep. Group H. Hoping for a sub-3 as well. Red Assos jersey and Cervelo. Lets do it.
  10. Thanks guys. My wife has been Veg for 20years so I thought I would give it a shot as well. I have a pretty solid vitamin regiment on the go and will make sure to keep the protein up with some powder. Tofu, beans, and lentils can only get me so far. Lets see how my energy goes. I managed to do quite well (for me) in my last 3 races and moved from N to H, but got sick after the 126km. Been off the bike since. I'll get back on and see you at the Medallion!
  11. Does anyone know of any good vegetarian cook books or diet plans for vegetarians? I have started to really cycle and train hard. I've moved up from N to H last month alone and since january have become vegetarian.
