  1. R300 for 9 months is more than fair imo.
  2. Not much easier than last year but with more rocky sections .Seems it attrackted less people though ?Might be mistaken .
  3. And the best part is you get penalised something like R100 if you pay eft .Or am I incorrect saying this?
  4. Wessel , thanks for the well run event ,it's my third time going to Tulbagh as I make a weekend of it .I have noticed the following though . Your regular mc was missing which made a difference. The fact that I could only buy darling beer after the event is rather limiting in my view. Regarding distance and price and acc. The event has gone up in price but so has everything else ,I still think its reasonably priced even when compared to others . The distance that people have to travel is really not far but my experience is that my fellow Capetonians don’t like travelling far and perhaps expect you to move the mountain range closer to them. Given your previous post regarding the possibility of the event being scrapped due to lack of interest then it might be advisable to consider the date. Another aspect is the fact that Tulbagh has become a popular wedding destination and on this weekend 4 weddings took place thus meaning many had to be accommodated in the small town .Perhaps an arrangement could be made for people to camp at say the local school ground or similar to make this easier for travelling cyclists.
  5. Yea tried to enter but had a minor issue with the website which was not resolved in the end .R250+R35(stand to be corrected here) for the csa license = the most expensive 40km I would ever of entered ,smacks a bit of excessive profiteering to me . Thank you Helderberg Sport as ill be doing your event the next day for a reasonable cost R150.

    Stolen DH Bike

Which area are you in ? My guess is when you experience theft like this it is possible you might of met the person before.
  7. Would like to join you guys some time if i may as I usually do the week rides alone ,currently have a broken collar bone so will be off the bicycle for December .
  8. The new SLX feels very nice ,I can't see many been unhappy with them .
  9. Koeberg is nice for starters as you can circle the dam twice and incorporate the short section to the beach and you will complete 28km.Problem I found they close the trails sometimes due to plant maintenance so I now do hill crest during the week or the new Hoogkraal (not sure on spelling) ,I would recommend them both as they have short climbs and hill crest has nice views once you on top.
  10. Any bike shop that stocks Giant should be honest and tell you this is the case.I bought mine at Geko cycles ,nice service ,they got one in for me to try without any obligation to buy as I was looking at either the new scott940 or 920.You won't be sorry even px2 wheels on the giant hold my 90 kg's without issue.
  11. Go for the 2012 xtc 0 ,top spec at R16000 marked down from 21000.weighs the same as Scott 920 .
  12. I think the 29 vs 26 is a little over rated to be honest ,I have a 29er and ride with those still on 26" and would say it’s a personal preference thing instead of better or worse . But if the money is burning a hole in your pocket why don’t you consider a HT 29er then you have best of both . Scott 920 or even 910, I instead bought a Giant xtc 0 (2012) aluminium frame (personal preference) which by the way weighs the same as the 920 at 11kg’s in STD trim with a rather heavy wheel set.
  13. Was my first and will be back for the next one, arrows were clear marshals were friendly ,though I feel an earlier start time would allow for a slightly cooler race and can the results not be posted on the organizers website surely this would be better than multiple emails ?
