  1. I rode a Boulder for years on Tokai jeep track. It has a little sticker on the crossbar stating that the bike is for recreational purposes only and shouldn't be used for off road activities That said, I pushed it well beyond its capabilities on jeep track and it handled the obstacles with aplomb. Just recently I started riding singletrack and thats when I realised how limited it and sluggish it was. I bought another brand at 3 times the price and am happily riding singletrack with confidence that the Boulder wasn't able to handle. The point here is that you have to decide what kind of riding your daughter is going to do before you decide what bike to buy her. Careful thought will save you a lot of money. Good luck
  2. Amazing! I went and spoke to the attendant and somebody HAD handed the stuff in and he kept it for me. I was flabbergasted and grateful for the honesty of everybody involved. Is there any chance that the person that handed the light in can contact me so that I can thank him personally? Thanks again. I love Cape Town
  3. had a fantastic ride on Saturday morning (2/5) but while washing my bike at the wash bay, I left my my powerpack on the ground and forgot about it. Duhh!! Has anybody possibly picked it up? Would appreciate if I can get it back.
  4. Or, if its in the morning, he had a breakdown or something and his only option to get where he had to be was by bicycle without lights. Granted, it is a silly thing to do but maybe there weren't any other options. Life is full of hard choices and maybe the choice one takes in a given situation is possibly not the best one
  5. In mitigation. The lad is only a moron if he does that kind of thing on a regular basis. It could perhaps be that he planned to be off the road by sunset but was delayed for some reason and now he faces a once off ride at in order to get home. He was possibly as scared as you were judgemental??
  6. Hi Guys Ive been riding Tokai (jeeptrack) for the last three years and have just upgraded my bike and have started doing single track (very much beginner). Its absolutely great and my enjoyment is enhanced by the quality of the single track in Tokai. I feel like a bit of a parasite enjoying somebody elses hard work so I'd just like to say a BIG THANKs of appreciation for the somewhat thankless work that so few are putting in so that so many can take out.
  7. Did the ride with my wife. She was slow so we only got to the top of OKW at 11h50. The guys there had lots of water and they were a godsend. Thanks PPA for making that plan. I'm not blaming anyone. We only finished at 12h20 so had to expect that the support had gone home, so it was nice to see PPA HAD made a plan for us "tail end charlies" Those guys at the top of OKW didn't have to stay up there for as long as they did. I for one appreciated that extra mile that they walked
