  1. Hit the trail for the first time this weekend after being off my bike for 7 weeks due to broken arm, indeed the trail is not very technical but hell, for R40 its well worth it. I started off with the yellow route, but 10km in i realized that i was going to battle a bit as my fitness level has for obvious reasons taken a back seat i continued with the green markers. Did a total of 23km and although nothing to rant home about i was super impresses with the set-up. Nice parking facilities, coffee caravan on site (Got my fix right before starting) which Rietvlei usually only opens later (restaurant) I would actually compare Modder more to something like Thaba Trail but without the steep and sometimes technical runs. Obviously being winter up in the high veld its a little dry and dusty at the moment, but if thats going to bother you perhaps you should take up play station instead? I do not believe these 2 trails can be compared to one another as they are very different in many aspects, but yet both really do bring something special to the table. I had a great time and more importantly a great workout, just need to get the fitness back up to acceptable levels and i am sure i will be conquering Modderfontein very soon. One small draw back but nothing too hectic is the fact that you are often passing oncoming traffic due to the various loops and this often happens on single jeep track, perhaps we can have the opened up a bit to assist with this? Anyway, great track (and more importantly its fantastic that we East Randers finally have some place to call home right in our own backyard)
  2. That sucks, just checked gumtree and junkmail, nothing.

  5. Guys, got a very old Scott, not too sure that the fork can actually be serviced, anyone know of someone good in JHB?
  6. Strange, since I moved to 29er my skills have improved vastly. Suppose it really comes down to the rider himself
  7. How true...............???? The land of Milk & Honey?
  8. BIG UP!!
  9. You should be able to pick up a Scott Spark Elite 29er Dually for R20K
  10. Duuuuudddddeeeeee, ROFL.
  11. Running full xt including 180 ice tech rotors, if I had to chose myself I would go with full shifter firstly, however my riding is more technical trails, and considering we are going into winter the trails will be much dryer but the climbs are still there
  12. Bought the same, cannot agree more
  13. Since the purchase of my 29er full sus I have never, never been back on my 26 hard tail
  14. Good luck guys
  15. Definitely a first for me too? Could anyone please elaborate as to why and advantages of such?
  16. Agreed..........literally sh@t myself at certain stages, i am a far way off from completing some of these rides offered.
  17. Although i have not been out to Magalies in quite some time now, so difficult one to comment on.
  18. Honestly, the black trial is beyond mindblowing, you will gunning round a corner at literally 25km's only to be confronted with a MASSIVE drop out..............its hair raising at the best of times.
  19. Avoid Black trail if you are not seriously advanced, no jokes
  20. Nice 33km, considered the most difficult in Gauteng, (there are days that i agree with the statement)
  21. http://thabatrails.webs.com/
  22. Hey Bio - there is also Thaba Trials just up the road from here as well, AWESOME but can be very technical
  23. Got another week or 2 at the most (waiting for broken arm to heal) and then i will be giving the new Modderfontein trial a go.
  24. At least something good came from the confusion...LOL
