  11. My name is Welcome Manganye from Ga-rankuwa (35km’s north of pretoria ),Christopher Ndaba & Myself are planning a cycling trip from Ga-rankuwa to Tanzania- mount Kilimanjaro ( approx 3400 ). The goal is to achieve this in less than 8 weeks. This means we will be doing +/- 100 km a day and we will have rest days in between. The idea & motive is to raise funds for our community since we have a big drug problem. There is a drug called “Nyaope” & it is destroying our youths future. A typical addict to this drug would steal, rob & would do anything just to smoke this drug. It is extremely addictive so they say. This link will give you more info about the drug and its effectsto youth. ( http://www.tnt.org.za/index.php? option=com_content&view=article&id=92:effects- of-nyaope&catid=17:drug- facts&Itemid=48 ) We also want a drug rehabilitation center or supporting of local NGO’s to help eliminate drug dependencies in youth, a skills centre and a cycling academy in Ga-rankuwa where other young people from townships around Ga-rankuwa can benefit and possibly change their perception and start engaging in sport activities.... this Is our dream. I have previously cycled from Beit- brigde ( South Africa and Zimbabwe border ) to Durban approx 1400 km, though i was not alone but with a cycling group. We were doing a climate change awareness campaign, we love our planet, this link will give more info and please watch the youtube video link below on the sabc news. http://www.sabc.co.za/news/a/ f1e59380490091ba9849db2e8942a841/ Cycling-to-raise-climate-change- awareness-20111109 Christipher Ndaba my accomplice has also walked from Ga-rankuwa to Pi etermaritzburg approx 580 km and again has walked from Ga-rankuwa to Cape Town approx 1550 km, he was doing a drug awareness campaign. This link is about Chris journey http://152.111.1.87/argief/berigte/ dailysun/2007/11/28/DT/43/ DT43longwalk.html I know we going to make this mission to Mount Kilimanjaro,Tanzania i know you are waiting for us with open arms. We have started training with our hardtails mountain bikes, we have faith. We would really appreciate your support to make this campaign visible and carry it forward nationwide. Kind Regards, Welcome Manganye Cell : 082 5022880
