  1. Started using USN Cyto Power HR. Noticed during long and post rides pee is blood red/brown (using grape flavour). Does anyone know what gunk may be in this product to do this, or had similar experience?
  2. sounds good - what time are you back by?
  3. Thanks Jules, just PM'd Ian
  4. Am new to the area and a keen racing roadie. Anyone know of groups starting out in this area and surrounding departing 5am ish for training rides? Let me know would be keen to link up cheers
  5. skims gone. Epic fun riders who need full bike mech sevices, shame on you! MTB is a self sufficient sport, get with it. Ps - very poor taste to name slander a person on a public forum. I don't know Mark but you have created a potentially incorrect perception of his shop to me and I may now not be a possible future customer.
  6. This is nuts - condelences to the family Does anyone know what happened to the dude that fled the scene of the last death accident - his court appearance was meant to be 30 Jan in Simons Town, what was the outcome?
  7. Gravitas, Hook up with Kinston Wheelers - they meet near and in Richmond Park. Totally cool dudes and you can learn a lot from them. The UK dudes ride in any conditions and they train hard. The Tri Club i think you have met is very ex pat and insular (I found if its the same one). Check out Kingstonwheelers.com Get hold or James Beaumont and ride with the training ride on a sunday departing at 9 normally (not snow!). I was in the UK for 5 years and tried many clubs, these dudes are awesome and very conveniently located and turned into tight friends. Ride with the fast training chaps and look out for Dan the Phantom, you will know when you see him (or not!). Latersgilmour2009-02-02 15:17:50
  8. Hubbers, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am not getting into a debate and I am no saint but this is my feeling on the embarrassing matter...... With all the ranting about PPA this and PPA that and the fact we are all appalled with the hit and run incident and were all very vocal about it, it would be good to see how many of you actually made any effort to attend this mornings organized protest? A handful and I hope it included the vocal ones That said it was a good positive affair, a small cohort with traffic cop support. We were met by the necessary dignitaries at the civic centre and handed over a formal list of grievances (PPA largely ignored the drink driving issue in the letter which is the heart of the problem and another issue that also needs attention?). Council accepted the petition and promised action with a hundred or so cyclists listening attentively. If you have concerns and are prepared to finger type pot shots, I rather suggest you pedal to show support, because you are needed This posts sounds punchy but it is meant to be the opposite if you can spot the irony, it?s just a fact that in CT that we don?t really walk the talk as was evident today. Well done to those that organised, the council and to the PPA
  9. Okay, we are all disgusted now lets do something about this, it could have been any one of us. A court protest and a Cycale lab initiated family fund should be minimum and those that witnessed please get hold of Detective Fouche (above). Anyone know the court date to arrange mass action and can someone from Cyclelab management indicate if they will set up and administer a fund?
  10. Hi Cheryl, The fact remains we have been shut out of all trails on table mountain/signals for a variety of unfair reasons. When we ride the trails you mention we very sedom see hikers, its like the the forgotten land (crime), its pathetic and exclusive. MTBer's actually bring life and security to the trails and as you may counter, little erosion. We have ridden these same paths for 12 years and the look the same as they did back then but recent 'improvements' is the thread of this topic. Until parks board accept MTB as a fact in all areas, we will continue to have our jump tracks and efforts curtailed in the name of fun. It sound like you are involved and that is awesome, please can you help us on the valid matter you have raised? gilmour2008-11-09 14:04:23
  11. Initailly I was dissapointed about our local technical single track trail which has now been manicured in parts to suit less technical riders by smoothing out Pats track. This is a sacred local trail which used to test skill and ability (we rode this on fully ridgid's with toe clips back in the day. i.e what can be done). With the advent of lightweight full sus bikes one should be able to clear Pats obstacles with some practice and patience. Lets rather use these trail building efforts on the other side of signal hill so we can create a complete loop on the sea and city bowl side to add more diversity to technical trails in the city. I think it is admirable that people are putting effort into building trails as it takes time and committment. Lets combine our efforts to connect a broader network of trails in the city bowl. Please respond or PM me so we can link up to team up. Gilmour
  12. napalm, I did not say it was right (its sick and wrong if its the truth) - but have you heard of cycle rage? The way we fluck at anybody that moves an inch too close too us, who says he really came at him for with an axe, did anyone see this? fight or flight right?
  13. colonel i am with you, sort of. what goes around can come around. i am sure there may even be two sides to this story...all i see is boy on bike and it can't be his fault...what if this guy was wound up to react? anyone thought of that? maybe this renaldo character is not all perfect, a known agitator by hubbers... gilmour2008-05-29 05:32:40
