  1. Just a location and time thing lads. Supposed to be at SB at 7am and obviously no shops open then. So yes, was hoping someone was planning to ride there and could sell me a tyre. And I'm lazy as f***!
  2. Road bike. Sorry, assumed that was taken for granted riding at suikerbosrand.

    Help!

Hi All, Drove out to the Vaal this evening to ride at suikerbosrand and arrived to discover my front tyre has totally perished. Anyone in this part of the world with a tyre to sell by tomorrow morning...? Thanks!
  5. I think those cost R23. Please give it to your kids.
  6. There are some people out near Alberts that make it a habit to go full retard. Last winter, I'm sure some of you will have seen that one of these oxygen thieves left two puppies out in the cold to die. It was deliberate and intentional, and if I ever found out who it was, you lads would have their cold, hard bodies to use for your next launch pads.
  7. Linden is very busy, so it's always a good idea to phone and book your bike in. Their service has always been good IMO and when they haven't got stuff 100% right, they're happy to take the bike back and get it sorted without additional charge. They took my bike back probably 3 times when I was having brake trouble.
  8. Cyclelab said they're no longer providing boxing facilities... All part of the bigger, better experience...?
  9. Anyone know of anyone who knows of anyone in JHB, who is hiring out bike boxes for the Argus weekend? Kulula require you to bring your bike, pre-packaged, for transport.
  10. Is there anyone in JHB who rents out bike boxes for the Argus weekend? Flying Kalula and you have to bring your bike already packed in a box, unlike DawnWing and the like who pack if for you.

  12. If you look at the link i posted earlier, maybe we should enlist the help of the African MTB Association - they seem to know what hoops to jump through.
  13. Any details on what happened? If we can get the right people involved, and learn from past mistakes, progress can be made.

  15. Good call. If it will help, the DA councilor for the area, David Potter, is a cyclist too and may be able to facilitate the meeting. Let me know if you want his details.
  16. Well, unfortunately for the pedestrians and old ladies who hate other people having fun, they don't own Delta Park. The city does. And more specifically, City Parks manage public spaces. And even more specifically than that, a lady named Ursula Naidoo is the contact person, and her email address is unaidoo@jhbcityparks.com What? You also want her phone number? Telephone : 011 712 6616 And her cell phone? That's pushing it a bit. Not really. Mobile Number : 072 891 7635Drop her a line and ask her if the City would object to a group of enthusiastic cyclists turning the Spruit into the premier MTB destination in the city. Tell her that they don't have to do anything except give us permission. Then, when the little old ladies come and complain, you show them a City Parks endorsed middle finger...
  17. http://www.ebicycles.com/bicycle-tools/frame-sizer If in doubt, go for a bigger size. Trust me. I'm 198cm and my back and shoulders nearly killed me on a Large frame. Upsized and now I can ride pain free.
  18. Dewald, it's 5pm on a Friday and this bunch of useless no-hopers have left for the day. But come Monday, you should probably expect a few marriage proposals!!!
  19. The only thing I can't figure out is why you guys aren't out there right now, building my fun....!
  20. I find manual labour interferes with my eating time.
  21. So I finally got my fat ass onto the Byron line yesterday. Got to be honest, weighing 100kg's (I'm 6'5") and riding an XL 29er, it's damn near impossible to carry enough speed into the willow jump. But perhaps with practice and less Christmas beer on my gut...? Anyway, the two jumps thereafter are then great, I nearly came pipe on the second mole hill and then nearly shat myself (sorry for the language admin, it's just a statement of fact) for the jump where you've got the exposed sand bags. I pulled soft on that one, but will be back today to stare it down! Great work guys! What a great bit of fun!
  22. Just arrive at Fratelli (Conrad Drive, Blairgowrie) from 4pm any week day (or from sparrow's fart on the weekends) and follow the herds! Also, if you wanna get a feel for JHB riding, Critical Mass in next friday night. Just sayin!
  23. Bit of a problem given your hobby choice!!!
  24. Ha! Snap!
  25. Maybe future jumps should have concrete bases so that at least she has a challenge to destroying them!
