  1. Please see here to give us feedback on the race routes: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/159022-marriott-freedom-race-route-feedback/
  2. The Kargo team and Emil parted ways amicably and by mutual agreement. I wouldn't call it bailing. I hear that there are going to be some exciting new signings announced very soon.
  3. Having fun on my Vipa at the Epic:
  4. ...and at the finish line. Definitely the right tool for the job.
  5. My Vipa showing it's mettle during the Cape Epic.
  6. I also wish they would make the Monorail in 29er, I used to love them on my 26er! Now I'm using Ikon at the back and Racing Ralph in the front. Works really well. The Racing Ralphs do wear fairly quickly, but I guess that is the price you pay for having grippy rubber.
  7. Running 2.2 inch tyres on a 29er will give you a cadence of 107 rpm. Download Gear Calculator App. for your phone, it is brilliant. Check out this thread for a ton of info on single ring set ups: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/132903-what-size-chainring-is-good-on-1x10/
  8. If you don't like the idea/look of a plug in your new tyre you can patch the hole from the inside using a patch cut from the sidewall of one of your old tube type tyres and contact glue. Just make sure you clean off all the sealant properly before glueing.
  9. SLR rims are tubeless and shouldn't need rim tape unless there is damage or a crack near the valve? Otherwise the valve must have been incorrectly seated at some point for the liquid to have entered the rim through the valve hole. Remove the valve and turn the rim so that the hole is at the bottom. Liquid should come running out.
  10. www.peschlracing.co.za is the teams website. Kargo do do transport and logistics. I'm sure you've seen their trucks on the road many times without realizing it. Their website is www.kargo.co.za
  11. Before I got my VIPA I was seriously looking at getting a shock with remote lockout because I hate fumbling around for the lockout lever every two minutes. However, after riding my VIPA I realized that I really don't need remote lockout because when riding off-road I leave the shock in fully open mode the whole time. There really is no pedal-bob when standing (Thanks Patrick). On open dirt roads I sometimes use the "pro-pedal" mode and only fully lock the shock when doing road rides.
