  1. I have been riding for about 10 yrs now, 90% of it being Mtb, and I am not a small guy. I now weigh 126kg, (lost a lot and gained some), and I ride a 32 x spoked alumunium roval wheelset, and I am sure it will help if you are able to ride on 32hole wheels, purely because of the weight distribution. I have broken 5 spokes over 10yrs, thus only 1 x spoke in 2 yrs. Just my 2 x pennies worth...
  2. Congrats Silverback!! The new Sesta is looking mighty awesome!!
  3. Great review!! Will try and make it next year...
  4. Thanks Shastri, but got that done at the registration.
  5. I have a men's M finishers T-shirt to swap for an XL, anyone?
  6. Just came back from Sani2C, and have a Medium Sani2C T-shirt, but looking for an XL. Anybody keen to swop, live in Jhb.
  7. I have a Ladies Small, looking for mens XL. Doing the trail, but based in Jhb, so can swap afterwards. Good luck all!
  8. It was my first time for TB and my partner's 2nd. Team Custard & Beef finished in 12h23min (80th overall), extremely happy with our result. Hats off to my partner who made sure we were well prepared for all checkpoints, and he still helped (pushed) me up Fang #2 and MAC, where possible, and I weigh 120kg's! That checkpoint came at the best possible time and the downhill that followed was Oh So Sweet!! All I can say is: Unbelievable race with an unbelievable partner!! Well organised, but be prepared for it, otherwise it will always be a loooong night!
  9. People like that do NOT deserve a license to drive! Give her a bike, then she might care!!!
  10. Sorry to highjack, but I'm also new to J'burg. Out in Broadacres side. Do you guys know of any Mtb group rides that way? I need to get some extra training in for the Transbaviaans, spinning alone is not gonna do it! Any help will be appreciated!
  11. Hi Andrew, I'm new to the area, and was looking at that bike shop to take my trusty steed to for a wash and repair. Thank you for your 'hardship' you've endured, cause now I won't be using CS for sure!! Will see you all on the road!! (After I wash my bike myself!)
  12. This is great for South African cycling!!! Well done MTN, you're already making us proud, go kick butts! Its only uphill from here!! (pun intended)
  13. What an icon for South Africa and such a sad loss!! Our deepest condolences to his family!! Very very sad!!!
