Had my white Anthem X1 stolen off my bike rack in Dorp street today at lunch time. It was locked, they just cut the lock. PLanning on heading back to Stellenbosch tomorrow to put up some posters, any other chance of me finding it?

Thanks for the idea, will go old school and put up some posters tomorrow. @Skylark: It was a fairly thick lock, looked like bolt cutters. Never leaving my bike unattended again.

Hi, My White Giant Anthem X1 was stolen off my locked bike rack on my car. I was parked in Dorp street getting something to eat at around 14:30, when I came back out the lock had been cut and my bike was gone. It is a 2012 Model, medium, white, with the shifters and front derailleur upgraded to x9 from the standard x7. If anyone comes across it, saw anything or can help please let me know! So, I am riding an Anthem X29er which is currently running Avid elixir 5's. After much consideration I have decided to put the Avid's where they belong, in the bin! They are really the worst brakes ever! The squeal worse than a stuffed pig and give as much feedback through the levers as i would expect if i had two midgets pressing blocks of wood against the rotors to bring me to a stop! The question is, what do I replace them with?....

I run the schwalbe evo tubeless and have had no issues even when riding rocky tracks

Hi, Does anyone have any advice regarding the bike course? In the pics i have seen of previous events there is quite a mix between road and tt bikes, will upgrading to a tt bike be a big advantage? What is the wind like in East London? If it's anything like Cape Town at the moment I will be leaving the deep section wheels at home! Can anyone recommend a good value bike bag? Need to get my bike up there in one piece. Thanks

Hi, has anyone imported a Garmin from CRC? Im in the market for a 310xt and can get a full bundle for R2700 compared to the R4000 odd it costs locally. I am just a bit concerned about import duties and warranty etc.

Hi, I am looking for a new GPS+HRM to use for my triathlon training. Anyone have experience with the two products listed above? Would be keen to hear feedback about the functionality of each unit? Believe the Polar has a sperate gps that needs to be carried which kind of puts me off

Hi, I am looking at doing my first 70.3 next year. One problem is I will only be able to get up to East London on the Saturday morning, with the race on Sunday. Anyone done the race that would be able to advise if it is feasible to arrive on the Saturday?

I bought a merida race lite 904 with 105, was around R12.5k. Great bike, and the 105 is a nice groupset in my opinion.

I am looking to upgrade my current 26er HT to a 29er dually. The bike I have has full xt but the bike I am looking at has the following specs: DRIVETRAIN Shifters SRAM X7, 2x10 Speed Front Derailleur SRAM X7 Rear Derailleur SRAM X9 Brakes Avid Elixir 5, [F] 180mm, [R] 160mm Brake Levers Avid Elixir 5 Cassette SRAM PG 1050 11x36, 10-Speed Chain SRAM PC 1051 Crankset SRAM X7, 26/39 Bottom Bracket SRAM GXP Press Fit How does this compare to my XT? Will it be an upgrade or will i be disappointed?

How do you know they didn't use the honesty box? I ride at Meerendal and I am not a member of Tygerberg mtb club, but always use the honesty box if there is no one at wine sales to pay. Just curious how you can tell wether someone with no bike board has payed or not? Don't get me wrong, I am 100% behind policing the trails and paying up because you guys do a great job with those trails. Just wondering if there is no solution to provide proof of payment without being a member? Maybe a receipt from the restaurant?

I am looking to make the leap and upgrade to a 29er dual suspension and trying to decide between an off the shelf bike or is it better to buy a frame and build something? What are the pro's and con's for each option?
