  1. Edit: Moved to Carbon Wheels Thread...
  2. I guess this is where the event participation should produce points instead of the HR level. They haven't produced a Tri event calendar yet, right?
  3. Have been struggling with this since mid-December. I changed password on Connect and have since not been able to delink my Garmin account from Vitality. Not even my Suunto account can delink. Spoke with Discovery today, we are tending to your issue...
  4. Congrats to the winners and the rest. We went better than last year and had a great time. We were in a bunch somewhere before the 2nd stop (if I remember correctly), where two guys in team 124 (or 144?) went down hard. Hope they came off easy? A thoroughly enjoyable day out.
  5. Good luck all. See you there!
  6. Will also be there, in aid of a good cause. And I've enjoyed the race before.
  7. Started in EL, formed up with some of the DL guys and pushed through. I lost my bearings with about 30km and formed up with some guys to the end. Managed a better time than last year, so I should be happy with that. For the rest, I am happy with the marshaling but all the kids shouting for chocolates is just a nuisance. I have to agree, the event feels a bit lackluster compared to previous years and then I feel that ASG is going crazy with the prices. R450 for a late entry, where I got a terrible quality medal (doesn't really mean anything, but compared to last year...) and some coke at the end. Yes they do put a lot of effort into the race organising. But compare this to the Race for Victory where you get for a R100 less, a shirt (loved last year's), socks (not quality I know) and your pick of what ever you want post race. With a good vibe. Just my thoughts.
  8. Will see you guys there. Also didn't receive an sms but phoned and they gave me my entry time.
  9. We got a corporate entry on Monday and am looking forward to bringing up the rear...
  10. RIP. A great loss to the motorsport fraternity.
  11. I can only comment on my own bike and my experiences moving to an all carbon frame. My frame has an integrated seat post and the year model I'm not a 100% sure of. But the first thing I noticed is that the frame is relatively stiff (and I feel it through the bum) and very light. I have good feedback through the bars and I corner on it confidently. I have not had lots of time on it in the rain, so I cannot comment on that. I got it for a good deal on the Hub and am very happy with it.
  12. Rudi was family of a friend and I was asked to post this. If you're able to please support.
  13. Depending on where you end up, Pta/Centurion, there are a number of clubs you can look at, including: Lab Centurion/Lynnwood, Bruce Reyneke, Velo, Speke, Centurion club, etc. Routes, you can ride in the vicinity of the Monument, R21, Klapperkop, Boschkop road to Radio Pta and so on. Lots of space and peeps.
  14. I'll also be going through tomorrow to pick up my number, if anybody else needs a pick up send me a pm.
  15. Got taken out completely today by a kid coming around a corner on the wrong side of the road on his bicycle, fortunately on my mtb so no damage to the bike. I think he understood my French quite nicely.
  16. Looking forward to it, starting in CL.
  17. Thumbs up for the filming and editing, love the Wolfmother soundtrack. Riding style looks awesome.
  18. This is not good, Also not used to the A seeding, hopefully there are a few slower groups.
  19. Also in AL with no fitness. Anybody have a route profile?
  20. Hahaha, looking at his mullet I would guess those are his cousins. Or not...
  21. Hi, Anybody know anything about this? Just saw it on twitter, looks quite cool. http://www.gumtree.c...480910202038509 Searched but couldn't find anything on The Hub.

    KILLARNEY 17.11.13

Great quality pics Maxman & 90 Inch!
  23. Looks fantastic! Why can't we have these up on the Highveld?
  24. I agree, I think the Westcliff hotel should be good, regarding road closures and all that. Also as mentioned before, the route of the Krugersdorp Hillclimb should also be good, although I am unsure of the road condition, as I haven't been that side in many a year. If I remember correctly the Krugersdorp Rotary Club had some input there. I think a weight category might be the way to go. GhostSixFour, I would be more than willing to help, will only be back in SA in Jan, but I could always send emails.
