  1. Good race. Registration was no different to any other PPA event despite the number of people. More people, more atmosphere. PPA have always been slow with handing out seedings. Beautiful route and very friendly cyclists today!
  2. ? from cannondale to santa cruz. ? looks like your slowley learning of the better bikes. ?One day when your a big boy you'll want a proper bike and get a merida
  3. . Marius is bored. Scalpel is an awesome bike, but never trust a bike with half a fork
  4. Saw a shoot out between a few top spec mtb's. Apparently performance wise both at the top and very similar... So whatever looks better! (Merida)
  5. A seriously quick hardtail: Merida flx 5000 or GT zaskar. Giant
  6. I rate Racing ralphs on back, Mountain king front for CT winter!! I swear by those Racing Ralphs. Or just RR all round..
  7. I have x0 RD and gripshifters. Just gave it a bash on my own and was very easy. I have no bike mechanical know how at all... Shifting is perfect now.
  8. I dont think you can do it on a stationary bike. you can get it done at the sports sience center in cape town, stellenbosch or pretoria
  9. how much are those going for?
  10. I recently acquired a new bike and have also had some intense lower back pain. I never had such issues on my old bike, which was a M in size. My new bike is a L. I sorted out my back issues with a shorter stem. If the bike feels a bit long, maybe a stem could help you as well
  11. "HEY BRU, WHATS YOUR POST COUNT? IM ON 3277!! AWESOME HA. IM A REALLY VALUED HUB MEMBER, CAUSE I HAVE GOT A 4 DIGIT POST COUNT. HEY! MY POST COUNT IS ALMOST THE SAME AS MY AVERAGE RACE POSITION. MAYBE I SHOULD RIDE MORE THAN I TYPE?" Oh no, I'm becoming like you. Cheers. Enjoy your evening
  12. More than half the topics i have read this evening, have turned into piss threads. Can't a hubber share his thoughts without some dingbat adding his unwanted criticism? Is it some peoples aim to destroy threads for fun?
  13. I thought mtb'ing was about camaraderie and pushing yourself in a beautiful setting. This weekend changed that. I do many sports but have never seen fellow sportsman go out of their way to be nasty and degrading. Im not a top mtb'er but am really passionate about it. I taped a goo to my top tube, cause its easy and makes sense. Mr Tissot on a new S-works rides past and tells me im all about show and no game, and rides off ahead. What do some cyclists get out of such comments? He wasn't the only one to comment about my silver adidas shoes and taped on goo. I start slow, so went on to beat him by 10mins. In the same race (Paarl 49km), my mate broke his chain and walked 10km's before somebody stopped to help him. The person who stopped wasn't even from SA. It left me with a bitter taste towards cyclists
  14. 10k's from stellenbosch. My backyard
  15. I went from a 14kg merida dual sus to a 9.2kg zaskar team MTB!!! Makes life a bit easier...
