  1. Had a similar issue. You're lucky its at the top of the stanchion. I used the finest water paper i could find to smooth out the burr's. Haven't had any serious issues. Maybe i have just been lucky. There are a number of posts online on how to do it though. Do your research and ask the LBS how they plan on trying to remedy the scratches. Remember, as it is not an approved fix, even if they stuff it up, they will more than likely tell you you need a new stanchion.

  5. Hi All, I have done a search on this, but wasn't able to find much... My question is, considering i am not one of those riders that ride at an exesively high cadence (ie, ride in the big ring on my 2x10 most of the time, with the exception of steep climbs), would the 1x11 suit me / my style of riding? Are there ways around this? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  7. It was all changed in one go while my setup was being done. Personally i thought it was a bit extreme, but i trusted the expertise of the guy doing the setup. But I will flip the stem and see what happens. Thnaks for the advice.

  10. Hi Guys, I'm having issues trying to find the right cockpit setup. I used to ride with riser bars and my stem was the "right way" up but i often used to wash out on high speed corners or struggeled to keep the front wheel down on steep climbs. So i flipped my stem over and switched to flat bars. This has remedied my previous problems, but now, after around 25km of riding, I am experiencing serious neck and shoulder pain. What can i do to help with the pain? Are there exercises that could help with the pain? Alternatively, what can i could i change in the setup to help the pain subside, yet still allow for better traction on the front wheel? Thanks a mill in advance for your input.

  12. Love the spruit, but that kicker in the bomb hole really caught me out on Saturday... rode away with a cold sweat thinking of how bad it could of ened up. The new jump on the left distarcted me...
  13. Depends how well you know the spruit... there is a lot on offer, you just need to know where to find it...
  14. Have a look at the Trek Cali range - http://www.trekbikes.com/za/en/bikes/mountain/cross_country/cali/ They are pretty (according to my wife) and also fall in that price range. Cycle Lab and Solomons stock them as far as i am aware.
