  6. Which hubbers are coming to do this ride up in the Katberg Mountains?
  7. It is possible that they might be changing the route this year But, if they keep it the same as last year..... here is a link to the info you are looking for: http://www.easterncapemountainbiking.co.za/index.php?page_name=route&route_id=32

  12. Oops! Forgot to put the pic in with the smiling LotCR participant. At this stage the chap was already 50km into day 3!! This must have been an awesome ride for him to still be smiling like that!!
  13. Enough about the partying.... time to show off what the riding will look like:
  14. This is more than a race..... For the fit - it is a battle of Man against Mountain! For the social riders - it is an unsurpassed opportunity to ride in pristine indigenous forests. For kids - a chance to "do what daddy does!" Come do this race! It is REALLY cool!
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Too Right Sir Morgan!!!
  16. Stevief, you might have to start your own thread to sell the w2w entry..... or list it in the classifieds? Did you do w2w last year? I heard bottlenecking was a major headache for most riders. Is it true?
  17. Hay Stevief Glad you enjoyed the hike! But I guarantee it is much more fun by MTB!! Some of the LotCR route actually traverses sections of the Amatola Hiking Trail
  18. Unfortunately Loudmac is correct. It is the roadies'ultra-MTB-marathon And absolutely do-able on a road bike with cyclo-cross tires.
  19. Captain M You are truly living the good life!! I am jealous!!
  20. Good Grief!! Captain M..... where did you find that out??? Seems like we have a mole in our team?? You heard right.... Dr Fick'n'Evil has been up in them mountains again, and has found some exciting new route options. Just when we thought we had seen all there is to see, and rode all there was to ride in Hogsback, the Dr has found some new MTB-nirvana! But, for more info, keep an eye on www.ecmtb.co.za
  21. Congratulations to Dave and Pauline Bullock for being the first newcomer team to enter into the Lord of the Chain Rings 2011 event!! They managed to squeeze their entry in before everyone else at 00:06 yesterday morning!! Well done guys..... now go get some coffee.... you must be moeg!
  22. Hi Guys, due to a large number of entries this morning, the entry system bombed out for a few hours..... probably went on strike for higher wages or something But, it is back online now, so anybody who tried to enter this morning but could not...... give it another bash!
  23. In the next 30minutes the entries open for first-timers!!! Almost all the 2010 riders have re-entered giving us a 90% re-entry score!! Thanks guys!! It must mean we did something right last year! And we will be working OVERTIME to make sure we do EVEN MORE right this year!!
  24. Dude! You have no idea how cool the after party is!! Having all those like-minded mountain bikers, dishing out payback to our poor mascot ( life size fiberglass hog) on the dance-floor. Heaps of giveaways from sponsors . Imported DJ!! A recipe for craziness! It was part of our plan all along to finish the race on the Saturday sothat the riders can party like there's no tomorrow and then still recover(from the hard riding of course) and drive/fly home safely on the Sunday. That's why our full package includes the Saturday evening accommodation.
  25. Hi Kosmonooit Fair comments, but I must remind you that the TV coverage brought with it many of the sponsors which allowed us to give each rider a goodie-bag filled to the top with almost R800's worth of goodies and memorabilia. It also meant we could give you Spur Burgers every lunch time when you finished. All the free Beer , hot chocolates, fruit juices and milk. The free internet cafe. And all the awesome giveaways at the after party. These things all add to the overall experience, and definitely do not come out of the entry fee. I hope this sets your mind at ease.... and do not fret because you missed the TV coverage. It will be on YouTube soon!
