  1. Thanks for all your input guys! Ive gone for the 661 rage. Will review after a few months of use!
  2. Im trying to decide between the Leatt 3DF 5.0 and the 661 Rage knee pads. Can anyone here own either of these and can give some thoughts on use so far? http://cdn.dialdbikes.co.za/images/thumbnails/465/465/detailed/3/knee_guard_3df_5.0_blue_orange_side_1.jpg?t=1481025822http://cdn.dialdbikes.co.za/images/thumbnails/1300/1300/detailed/3/apparel_1300x1191__0063_661-rage_kneepad-front-7129-05.jpg?t=1480965378
  3. Thanks! Think i'll go for the Magic Mary TrailStar up front and the Nobby Nic Pacestar for the rear!
  4. Currently running Onza ibex on the rear and Schwalbe HD up front. I feel like rolling resistance isn't the greatest still some life left but looking to purchase my next set for when needed. Any suggestions? Oh and they need to be 26"...
  5. Awesome, thanks. Where can i find more info on the club rides? Im unsure of my own skill level tbh fairly new to MTB but many years on BMX prior, a bit of racing and then mostly dirt jumping after that. Quite a few years in between not on any bike at all then got myself my current bike mid 2015. Took part in the Giba gravity Enduro, had a taste of Cascades, Karkloof & St ives trails last year but not much saddle time other than that for last year.
  6. Hi Everyone, New resident of the Howick area here! Looking forward to getting to know the trails! Any advice on where to begin for a newcomer?
  7. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/110918-mtb-tyre-choices/page-23?do=findComment&comment=2676713 pretty much so, ive done three rides since the photo. Just thinking ahead at this point.
  8. So this is all very new to me, I have no experience whatsoever with MTB tubeless setup's. Recently bought a bike and it became apparent that at some point in the near future i am going to need to replace my tyres. The bike came with Schwalbe Hans Dampf up front and at the back Onza Ibex FR. I have no clue what to look for when replacing, should i stick with the same as they are currently? And when i do would it be better for me to take it to my LBS to fit the tyres? Im not even sure if they need replacing right away...
  9. The package is not poorer, I left for a better work environment. Yes they offered a co payment for med aid and a provident fund. But i worked 9 -6 sometimes up to 14 days at a time.
  10. This is why i am here... Asking for advice. I'm not about to disclose my financial standing's on a public forum. My post is simple i provided some background, then asked for opinion's as simple as that! Thank's everyone for your input so far!
  11. I understand the necessity... my previous employer covered half of the payment. Now, there's no way i could afford it... or could i? what am i in for? How does one separate the shark's from the genuine provider's? My current employer provides an "accident's only" 24 hour medical assistance. Not entirely sure what it cover's though...
  12. I spent majority of my life without a medical aid, with all due respect to my parent's i just don't think they could afford it in my younger years. So growing up i learn't to deal with the pain where most would run to the GP and on the rare occasion a long wait in the public hospital would suffice. Up until i started working full time, medical aid was compulsory. It served it's purpose when necessary, however i felt it was alot of money being spent on a "what if" Now eight years later i have a new job which does not include medical benefits... I rode bmx through out my teen years and we were the helmetless generation, it's surprises me how my bones stayed in one piece over all those years. My elbows and knee's could provide hour's of stories! Up too current times, i recently purchased my first MTB and have had a few people say "i hope you have medical aid" every time i log into ROAG site for even't entries, i get a pop up asking for my Medical aid plan and number. It's playing on my mind and want to know your opinion's.
  13. 9 day's now 100% smoke free, too anyone else trying stay strong!! Your mind is your enemy in this battle don't let it convince you that that 1 drag is ok. I keep a wishlist of all the MTB gear, upgrades etc that i wan't and use it as motivation!!!
