  1. I have not done the 947 in the last 2 years due to Covid, got seeded in BB this year, so I responded to their WA asking them to check my previous years times, and they reseeded me 50 minutes earlier in N which is closer to what I was hoping for. So at least they are responding and trying to sort it out when asked 🙂
  2. They should call it a race for the top 5%, for the rest of us it's a timed event to see if our training is working or failing.... have a few more waterpoints, and better safety. Goodiebags are a waste, get rid of them, and I agree with quite a few here about having to collect race numbers before the event.... we have technology, send it to my phone !
  3. There will be tandem categories at SA champs in 2015...follow this link http://www.cyclingsa.com/2015-sa-road-champs
  4. I am by the race getting more and more upset about the inadequacy of race organizers to determine how far the race actually is. The last example of this happened only yesterday morning on the Dome 2 Dome road race, where the race was advertised as 93km, 96km and 98 km - 93km being the race distance advertised, but the route profile indicated 96km, and on the maps where there were turns, 98km. To top it all the route markers all indicated 98km. My bike computer as well as many other cyclists that I spoke to afterwards indicated 97+ km, but when the race results appear online we are given the official 93km distance, that with the time we did, in our case, was a drop of almost 2km/h average, and which also means that I did the last grueling hill-climb for nothing ?? If I can accurately use GPS, Endomondo, Sports-Tracker and my bike computer to determine the distance why is it so difficult for race organizers to do the same ?? Does anybody else agree that we deserve all the kilometers we worked for ?
  5. Shame I never wish a puncture on anybody, it did give us a really rare 'win' over them this time though Way to go Jurie and Jo
  6. That's another good question greenhorn, early this afternoon the results for the VW Herald was available... what's taking them so long with the Emperors results ? They are probably adjusting the averages etc to accomodate the 103+ km distance, else some toys will be thrown out of cots all over the place ! lol
  7. Everybody that had benefit from the Canada tandem guys, you were lucky to have them there, they finished just behind us (also on a tandem). The had a flat else they would not have been there when you hooked onto them - they kick our a$$es all the time I find this incorrect indication of race distances a real problem, my computer indicate 104.84 - it's slightly further than the advertised 97 - tsk !
  8. Anybody out there (in here ?)that know of good websites where I can check and compare wheelsets and find the max rider weight of those wheelsets ?
  9. The computer on our tandem malfunctioned....we were going for a certain time and had no idea till last night around 11pm if we've actually achieved our goal or not...oh the torture to sit and wait for your results to appear !! Thank goodness when it was finally up ...we made our goal by more than a minute...phew !
  10. Looking for riders (avg 28-30+ km/h) to train with us in Montana (Pretoria)weekends. Let's train hard and safely together !
  11. Usually when we do a race on the Sunday the results are up from Sunday afternoon just after 5PM...or Monday morning. This race was on Saturday....I'm disappointed
