  1. When do entries close for this event? Have been at the last 2 and don't want to miss this year's. Great event!
  2. Hi Guys Just to let you know the rider who ended up in hospital (me) is fine. I simply ate something that reacted badly with my stomach and tried to ride through it. You can find a brief story about the ride at http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/western-cape/uct-riders-tackle-everest-challenge-1.1747693#.VA7pBsLoRKU In the next couple of days I will be writing an article for bicycling.co.za which you will be able to find at wwww.bicycling.co.za/blogs Finally; more info on the event and why we did it can be found at; http://www.everestingchallenge.wix.com/uct-everesting
  3. Hi Everybody Thanks for your support and apologies about not updating you all. Once the bike was spotted I opened a case and got the police to accompany me to Mitchell's plain to collect the bike. It took a couple days as the police were not particularly knowledgable about the procedure for reclaiming stolen property. We now have the seller's I.D., adress, number, and CCTV verification. He sold the bike to CC for R1500 who verified that he was the bike owner when he answered the question, "when and where did you buy the bike from?" with the answer "Bellville Cycles in 1998 when I was still riding for Spartans." Obviously there are some gaps in the CC buying verification procedure. Nevertheless, the bike is home although technically on SAPS 13 loan until the case is closed. Cheers
  4. Thanks guys! Saw the feed. Best news ever! I will be in contact with Cash Crusaders first thing in the morning!

  6. We think he (singular) was watching the house. Used a ladder to climb the roof into our courtyard whilst my digsmate was out. It was very targeted as he was in and out in under 5min and took nothing else
  7. Hi Guys My Swift R838 road bike was stolen from my room yesterday. It is quite a rare and distinct bike. It has a brilliant red, white and black paint job, integrated seatpost, SRAM red and easton wheels. I realise the chances of getting her back are pretty slim but please keep an eye out. Below is a picture of the bike taken sometime. The wheels are now easton EA90's and the bar tape is black not white. Everything else remains unchanged. Thanks
