Also doubt CF said that, that was my sarcastic/rhetorical question. The point I am trying to make is that CF cannot moan/talk about others taking uncalculated risks (in his opinion) in an effort to win back time (He probably would in the same situation). He should know that they WILL do that and he should respond/react appropriately ON THE ROAD. The press room is not the best place to do that as it will be seen as whining/crying.

AC has to take risks if he wants to try and win the tour and he fell taking a risk - that is racing. What does CF want AC to do? Back off and not contest it all? He would like that but not going to happen. Perhaps CF should back off a bit more so there is no chance of him being taking out if AC or some other rider keen on contesting the tour falls again.

Yes, AC did fall and CF was far back enough to avoid it so why raise it at all then? Surely that is what racing is about, taking a calculated risk and that is what AC was doing, i doubt he was intentionally trying to cause an accident, would not have been to his benefit at all.

This piece from inrng makes for interesting reading and puts both points of view forward - The route was announced last October and ever since all the teams have had a chance to visit the road. It was used in the Dauphiné so riders could test it in race conditions. and hullo, lovers will love.... Why was froome following him so closely anyway? Not as if it is a second or two separating them, he can afford to give him a metre or two and catch him later. Was silly following so closely and not picking his own line IMO.
