  1. Unfortunately the Toti track was trashed by the storm last week and is closed. Rocky Bay is partially running with only the 12km track open to my knowledge. Sent from my SM-A720F using Tapatalk
  2. Been given an entry for the 65km, could someone advise if it is possible to upgrade to the 106km and if so what is the cost? Sent from my SM-A720F using Tapatalk
  3. Looks like it depends on which VA you go to. Lynwood Pretoria was fine when I visited my brother, but Bluff was absolute no entry. Could also be that some allow you as long as you are accompanied by a member. Point of my original post was that if you are outside a central area points are pretty useless. Even if I was to join VA, there is no Kauai at the Amanzimtoti gym to my knowledge. End up just making target just for the sake of meeting the challenge.
  4. They weren't interested. No VA card, no access. Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
  5. So, don't have the gym membership. Had 2 rewards and was going to take the Mrs for a smoothie at Bluff Kauai. Kauai is inside the gym and you cannot get to the Kauai without a gym membership card. With the dwindling number of Café Vidas and the ones at Shell petrol stations being expressly excluded. In addition that it appears that a majority of Kauai stores are in gyms. If you are not in one of the city centres seems that meeting your target doesn't mean anything. 6. https://www.discovery.co.za/discovery_coza/web/linked_content/pdfs/vitality/vitality_news/vitality_active_rewards_new_points.pdf Don't see anything limiting the number of activities per day with the new rules. I know it was a restriction before. Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
  7. The way I read their initial example when they changed the points, it indicated that you could get points for multiple exercises on the same day, or atleast that is the impression I got. Haven't tried it though. If they do allow it, it may have to be for different activity types. Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
  8. Even easier would be just to get the Tickr or the H7 and use the Polar Beat software, links directly to Discovery with your Polar account. The other thing to consider is that they have reduced the number of official events that give you points and to get your 30000 points next year you would have to exercise 300 of the 365 days if you only work on speed data. 9. See another Cafe Vida has bit the dust in Durban Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
  10. Hit that on most mountain biking rides, especially with a quick group. Road seems a bit tougher, but doable. Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
  11. For those who don't have a Discovery supported device, Polar Beat seems about the best bet. Discovery recognise the workouts on it and if you have a Bluetooth heart rate belt (not necessarily Polar), it will record that and you will get the relevant points. Got 3000 points for my workout yesterday. Someone mentioned that they were running more than one heart rate tracking app at the same time, tried that and Beat did not drop the heart rate connection. 12. Perhaps it's just the Android version, other apps are fine. Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
  13. As I said, Polar Beat works and is recognised, only issue is it is a bit buggy with heart rate monitoring dropping off. Comments on play store say this happens with H7 sensor as well (so not hardware issue). Worst case though is that it will just record speed data and you get 100 points. Which is better than nothing. 14. So got myself a Wahoo tickr heart rate sensor and have sort of successfully uploaded a workout or 2 to Discovery, but there are some catches. You can track the ride on your phone with The Polar Beat software, this registers on Discovery, but the software is buggy and drops heart rate at random tones. The only way to get the app to pick up heart rate again is to stop the workout and start again. This resulted my ride being split in 4 on Strava, however Discovery were smart enough to join it into one. Tried using the Wahoo app today, which uploads into Garmin Connect. Garmin Connect shows all details of the ride and Discovery shows the date and time of my ride on the device settings. Discovery does not seem to have accepted the ride data though. Just a heads up for anyone else who does not have a Garmin or Polar computer / watch. So far Tapirik might be the best option, if Discovery aren't blocking it yet. Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk
