Been off the bike for the last 10 odd years, and getting back into it and am wondering is it worth joining a club. I have heard mixed feedback, some guys says it good to get to know routes and set up group rides etc and others saying it is just an opportunity to show off and brag about who has the latest and most expensive gadgets. I am in fourways, and the most convienient club for me is a big national one where I pay a reasonable amount of hard earned cash to join and get a lovely branded Lycra outfit. Any thoughts or informal "club" set ups around the area

We meet at the caltex garage on witkoppin, then ride through some of the servitudes in and around lone hill A nice slow and easy pace door to door is about 20 for me Saturday mornings I go a bit longer down witkoppin up past sunning hill hospital up into midrand over new road bridge down onto main through lonehill and home it's about 45km If keen to join tomorrow let me know, it's mostly side of road riding nothing hectic will head out about 5ish

Afternoon rides for me are out, only head home after 6 Prefer to get out early especially now that summer seems to have arrived Was thinking 6ish

Never done the spruit before - anyone keen to for a leisurely early morning spruit ride Saturday morning?

First ever 94.7 did a 3.50 on a mountain bike SO true about the N14 been a killer was on track for a 3.30 then the N14! Better time than I thought though! Well organized event

Dose anyone know of a good shop in the JHB area which has a wide stock offering of second hand road bikes Or any good online sites offering second hand bikes

Recently back on the bike, haven't been on a bike for years. Would be keen to come along, unfortunately sunday is out for me will be sure catch the next time around Am keen to meet up and tag along with some guys doing the spruit ride, believe it is quite fun and not 'tooo' hectic

used to ride about 10 years back, buddy loaned me a bike and getting back into it wouldn't mind tagging along as i know no routes around Fourways/Sandton

I am thinking of buying a MTB out of China - got a friend there which has given me indicative prices and they are REALLY good on branded bikes. Has anyone bought a branded MTB out of China? Been given the prices on Gaint, Felt etc
