  1. I passed the body in the road on Christiaan de Wet on the way to drop my daughter at school. As far as I could see he wasn't a cyclist as we know them - as in from the cycling fraternity - but a man on a bicycle. I know that doesn't make it any sadder though, RIP
  2. Well, if the standard of racing at this weekend's Central Gauteng provincial track ckamps, specially among the Elites, is anything to go by, I am REALLY looking forward to the SAs later this month! Well done to all who competed, the racing was an absolute pleasure to watch. A special congrats to Martin van Wyk, James Louter, Gadi Chait, Devlin White and Michael Oosthuysen who all rode superbly, and to riders like Ivano Siebritz, Curtis Hoewlls and Johan vn den Berg who contributed greatly to making the racing even more exciting than it already was!! Good luck to all competing in PE.
  3. I KNOW some of you guys consider your bikes sexy, but this - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11/15/bike_bloke_sentenced/ - is ridiculous!
  4. And just for the record, D_P_, she's not a selector.
  5. Shame Latrinus, don't just blame poor Colin - remember the k*k you got into at the track once for having an earring??? Die skande!!! So come to think of it... maybe some things have changed and progressed slightly!? still a way to go though... but with enough POSITIVE energy it can happen!
  6. Well said Latrinus - straight from the mouth of someone who is in a position to know a whole lot more about the history of the sport and what really goes on than some of those airing apparently uninformed views! I'm with you on this one. To all those who have so much negative stuff to say, get involved in the system and make a difference or, as the saying goes, FIFO. And Latrinus, no, don't go the sainthood route - nobody would recognise you!

Karen, our thoughts and prayers are will all of you. Love, Lynne and Ainsley
  8. Plej Chunkster, think I've been around long enough to know what I'm talking about
  9. Popeye, either way, he was selected so he must have been good. Actually I was there at the time and I know he was good. I agree with what Chunky says in his last post and I also know how difficult it is for those who want to do well but realise that they cannot compete against the guys who are taking stuff - I am NOT saying it is right, but it is a personal choice.
  10. Originally posted by popeye Poisen Ivy and W/Woman. I do agree that you can get the info from many other sources. HOWEVER: Chunky represented this COUNTRY in Cycling. This is the difference. He represented this country because he was a damn fine sprinter - good for him, that's what I say!
  11. Way to go ChunkMonster (meant in the nicest possible way!)
