  1. Hello All, So I ride a Momsen AL529, 2012 model and hell its been an exemplary awesome boney. I have ridden many many miles with it, including berg and bush. Now, I entered tour de tuli, coming up in 2 weeks and duly took my bike for a service, for now that shop will stay nameless, and one of the things I specifically asked for was to true and dish my wheels. When I got the bike back a spoke broke within 1st 50m of my ride…. GGGRRRRRR, anyway, spokes do break but when I felt the tension on the spokes it felt very very tight. I took it back and they charged me for replacement spoke, not happy, but I paid. This morning I replaced my back tire with a tire of have used before and to my utter frustration find that the dish on the wheel is out by about 10mm and wheel won't turn cause its rubbing so hard against frame. I phoned shop and crapped on them from dizzy height, and they want to blame my ZTR's. I mean really, maybe they not the best wheels but they certainly not worst either. I think they just did a crappy job. Do I bother taking it back to them or should I rather go somewhere else?? Anyway, put old tire back so I can at least ride this weekend, but now I have to address this issue next week. So irritated. Regards

  5. 3.5hr ride at Van Gaalen today, over dagga pad, and my training has not been what it should be. Anyway, breakfast was coconut cream, full cream yogurt, coconut oil, almond flour and 2 scoops protein powder. Felt strong all the way. All the best. Leon
  6. Hello guys, Below Woolies reply to my question. "Dear Mr Besaans Thank you for bringing your concern regarding the Free Range Meat to our attention. Responding to customer needs is Woolworths' first priority, and we appreciate it when customers take the trouble to let us know their needs or concerns. You may be assured that your comments have been discussed with our buyer who has informed me that our free range meat products are products derived from animals that are allowed to graze naturally, never given routine antibiotics or growth stimulants. The animals are also not fed any animal by-products. This means that in our Free Range meat products antibiotics are not used prophylactically or to enhance growth in animals as the case is in feedlots. Our animals are allowed to be treated with antibiotics when they are ill, but then animals have to adhere to double the withdrawal period registered for the drug. Growth promotants may not be used such as hormones and beta-agonists. Animal by-products may never be fed such as bone meal or chicken litter. Animals graze natural or cultivated pastures. Animals may be fed supplements such as mineral, protein and energy licks, but this is done on the veldt and not in feedlots. This is controlled by our protocol and audited independently. If we can be of assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us as follows, call us on 0860 022 002, email custserv@woolworths.co.zaor contact us online www.woolworths.co.za." Regards
  7. Wow, not funny... http://www.farmerangus.co.za/2014/02/13/elaboration-on-selling-illegal-grass-fedpasture-rearedfree-range-beef/
  8. Agreed, I see woolies do sell venison mince, which is actually very nice, and affordable. Have sent a mail of to woolies asking for their policy regarding what free range is and is not. Watch this space.
  9. Guys, How valid is Woolies claims of "free range" chicken and meat?? Regards
  10. Hello guys, Just returned form a wonderfull trip to Dusseldorf (Business and some pleasure), and I must say I thought the diet will be a challenge, but it was a breeze. European breakfast consisted of salmon, cold meats, olives, cheese… Lunch I found some green cabbage with smokey sausage and dinner was typically a harm hock with sauerkraut. Not to bad….. Oh… I did have a few jugs of the local Alt, but I did not die. What is interesting is the amount of little corner bakery's you find, and they always packed to the brim with people buying some form of pastry bread etc. The germans don't seem to be an obese lot, you hardly see overweight people. Also, they are absolutely fat obsessed, you van buy varying grades of % fat yogurt for instance, 1%, 2%, 3.5% etc, and when we got a vanilla flavored latte from Starbucks they actually warn you that it has cream in it (Yes I know, the latte was full of sugar), When I ordered plain coffee with cream they are astonished, asking really?? What is beyond shocking is the rubbish the airlines offer you on board. I should really have taken a pic…. Pure sugar breakfast crazy. Anyway, thought I would share with you. Regards
  11. See poor Tim Noakes took a beating on twitter yesterday. Proffesionals bashing the cr@p out of each other. Kinda funny but also sad. PS, I am a rather large Noakes fan. Regards
  12. You really need to read, Good calories, Bad calories by Gary Taubes, also, why we get fat and what we can do about it by same author. Tim Noakes latest "Real meal Revolution" also has long explanations in it. Your GP should rather have told you that cholestrol as a stand alone figure is not complete and only factor to consider in CVD, as a matter of fact people on this thread are not worried about cholestrol. He should also rather have told you that sugar and processed vegetable oils are the most poisonous. But ja, years and years of wrong learning wont be turned around in a rush. Regards
  13. Guys, This is not a debate, its a free world. If you wanna die form carb poisoning or fat poisoning for that matter, is your adult choice. For goodness sake Northshore, if you wanna cause k @ K why dont you go do it somewhere else. And, please, Noakes is not the villian here, he is a convert, and just sharing his experience with us, with an added bit of science etc. I mean really....
  14. Interesting article in Daily Mail.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2546975/One-twin-gave-sugar-gave-fat-Their-experiment-change-YOUR-life.html Regards
