  1. BTW - how many km's is that, sounds like a nice ride.
  2. Love it, and love this sport! In another thread a guy was telling how the only scary thing he came across was a cow that suddenly appeared on one of the trails.
  3. You realise that was posted in 2009. Everytime I go there I have had to check in with security so wonder if its not better these days. Can anyone confirm or comment on Koeberg these days? I've cycled there quite a few times without incident, but with the Slowcoach group, which is usually 3-5 people.
  4. My black steed
  5. I'll be driving into Rhodes with my car as I will have the bike loaded (live in Table View).
  6. Awesome, please do. I just got a new on a few weeks ago needs some kms on it!
  7. Are there any group rides that happen here during the week after work hours - starting 4/5 pm. Have relocated my job to new lands just below the memorial and would be keen to ride there once a week after work. Alternatively are there any clubs that do this?
  8. In the end after endless crawling through shoe shops where this shoe is sold out in my size - I finally found it at Tekkie Town (Claremont) in this exact colour. Goes really well with my all-black bike However - went out with them yesterday and man it was a blast!!! Love them! Conclusion: Going to save up to invest in proper flats and shoes in the future.
  9. After spending about two hours walking from shop to shop, having seen many different skate shoes, trail running shoes and cycling shoes the price on the Five Tens are starting to look fair and more practical...
  10. More importantly - what shoes do you wear with them?
  11. Then you don't want to see the bill for the other Giant equipment I'm getting ;-)
  12. The Giant ones are cro-mo: not sure what that is?? http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/gear/product/original.mtb.sport.platform.pedals/564/57278/
  13. I'm starting off with Giant Platform Sport pedals, which costs R550. I feel this isn't too bad as I can get a feel for flats - then decide if I want to invest in proper ones in the future.
  14. Hahahaha!! I'll still save for the better ones, but until then so that I can at least start riding and even seeing if I like flats this will have to do
  15. After forking out 25K for a new bike, I'm turning coins around twice so I think I'll be going for the budget option.
