  1. I'm thinking of riding in from Table View - wondering if there are going to be a few others on the road as I only start 8:26?
  2. As per similar feedback from others, this race kind of felt harder than the Argus was earlier this year. All the way to the Hugenoot tunnel and the little turn offs etc was amazing, but when I hit that looooooooong looooooooong loooooooooooong road back to Stellenbosch seeing the road just stretching out infront was a bit dull and gruelling - as well as scary as the cars were speeding by close to the yellow line and at times I could feel the heat off their engines. Not sure about next time...
  3. Just some more feedback on this bad boy ;-) Completed Die Burger (aka Stellenbosch Tour) on this bike - with knobblies...and although my bottom is still numb...it was an awesome ride up and downhill.
  4. Gonna be my first Burger as well. Very excited! My solution to climb Helshoogte is... ...I'm doing it on a mountain bike Did the Argus this year on a mtb as well
  5. I wanted to say the exact same thing Sometimes I do a road ride on my mountain bike...only ones who greet back are the mtb's
  6. There were a few people early in the thread that I think ended up doing this, but not from my side unfortunately as I ended up riding in driving to Durbanville after work and riding that side.
  7. Agreed, this bike makes you feel like you can fly. Was doing Contermans last weekend and it was the most amazing ride shredding the rocks jumping some bumps. One can easily go too fast on this machine...love every moment on it. PS: i went from cleats to platforms with this bike and it just adds to the fun. My performance is better on this bike with platforms. Enjoy it!
  8. BTW - how many km's is that, sounds like a nice ride.
  9. Love it, and love this sport! In another thread a guy was telling how the only scary thing he came across was a cow that suddenly appeared on one of the trails.
  10. Thanks, I understand the reason why it happens there - just didn't expect it so soon as the bike is 1 month old. I do live in Blouberg (Cape Town)... Is there nothing I can put on that area to touch up in the mean time like clear nail varnish or something??
  11. So yesterday when I loosened my front wheel to load it in my car I noticed the matt black peeling off my fork!! Any ideas on stopping it from peeling any further?
  12. Lol! Cool will see you out there!
  13. Entry done! Anyone else doing it on a mtb?
  14. Great stuff, thanks for the replies. Makes me all warm and fuzzy as we are truly blessed with the best trails in SA
