I am already in a group for the Argus as I am riding for WWF I was refering to Die Burger

Thanks a lot, that gives me a lot of insight into what I am going to do. Are there any other beginners on here keen to ride in a group in this event?

I haven't done a race event yet as I'm still a newb, so I have a few questions I hope you guys can help with. I'm doing my first race event - the one in march where we ride through the western cape :-) Do you think Die Burger is a good practice run, maybe trying the 44km or rather the 97km. The furthest I've gone is 55kms so far. Also, I know there will be no road closures, but will there be next to the road support? P.S. I will be doing it on a mtb with slicks.

I'm thinking about the same thing. @Alouette - I am riding the Argus for my first time next year. For a newb would you say a mtb will work? Alternatively I am also looking for a road bike, but from what you are saying it sounds like a mtb will help a newb out?
