  1. Park in front of the PC and watch movies. The more skiet-skop-en donner, the better!!
  2. Be careful of a Protein diet. You need the carbs. Especially for us cyclist. Buy the way; forget about the word ?protein?. Proteins are present in both carbs and fats. Think of fats and of carbs. When you eat, don?t mix the two. Have a fat meal or a carb meal. Remember, eating carbs release insulin, the hormone that stores fat. Eating fat alone don?t release any insulin therefore no fat storage. Out of interest, a fat is anything with a face, chicken (eggs, meat etc.), beef or cow (meat, steak, milk, cheese etc.) fish, etc. If something does not have a face, it?s a carb. Vegetables can be eaten with any meal. Fruits are a carb (sugars). Check out http://theharcombediet.com/ and get the book. It works and you feel great. It sorts out a few other problems like Candida, food intolerances and cravings. Get the book at kalahari.net OscarS2010-05-13 11:17:48
  3. I won't mind doing it with you. When do you plan to do it? You can always stop at Cape Garden Center (Joostenberg) and start from there.
  4. You just pay your fee at the gate when you enter.
  5. Jonkershoek ans specifically the areas where you ride your bike is manage by the Forestry Department and not Cape Nature or Sanparks. So, no Wildcard access.
  6. Cederberg in three days Day 1 We started off at Sanddrif campsite riding towards Wuperthal (this is technically a 4x4 route), though Wuperthal and stayed over at Mertenhof 65km ? 920m climbing Day 2 From Mertenhof towards Clanwilliam over the Pakhuis Pass and to Keurbos Campsite 68km ? 1310m climbing Day 3 Keurbos back to Sanddrif 46km ? 940m climbing We camp everywhere and had a Landy as a backup vehicle. Because day one is a 4x4 route, our other vehicles with the family and camping gear had to do the round trip through Clanwilliam to Mertenhof. It was a great ride. The only drawback is that they where busy surfacing (tarring) a big part of the road between Mertenhof and Clanwillaim. which will make this part of the road very boring 20100315_120503_Cederberg_KML_F.zip
  7. September last year we have done a very nice three day ride/tour through the Cederberg Mountains, pitching camp every night at a different spot (180km in the 3 days). Now I am looking to do something similar but somewhere else in the Western Cape. This time I would like to set up a base camp (camping with tents) and ride loops. Looking at doing 50 to 70km per day and preferably as far away from civilization as possible. Any suggestions welcome.
  8. You can cycle to Poplars and go through the vineyards. That will take you up to the "power station". I always take that route. You can go up the white route or the blue route
