  1. Try Endomondo or Cyclometer on iPhone, that does seems to support quite a few HR's https://getsatisfaction.com/endomondo/topics/what_heart_rate_monitors_does_endomondo_support_use_a_heart_rate_monitor_with_your_smartphone_or_import_workouts_from_your
  2. Another vote for this method, Lots of functionality, you can get the phone to tell you how far you have gone, average speed, etc. Endomondo uses very minimal battery life and can still upload to Strava for all the stats. The other nice aspect is the social part, where you can compare yourself to friends, also lots of graphs and stats Say no to expensive devices that have limited features..
  3. Yip, it is.. A buddy has emailed them, begging and pleading..
  4. Are all the 40km entries taken?
  5. Thanks for all the advice, I've put abit of Q20 on the pivots and using my chain lube for the jockey wheels, but when I do my next service, I'll do the whole clean and regrease method
  6. So, after last week researching which lube would be the best to use and going though the Great Chain Lube Debates, This past weekend I did a proper clean of my chain/derailleurs and lubed it all nicely, which then led me to the question of what lube I should be using on the derailleurs and jockey wheels, or am I just being pedantic? But just wondering what everyone else uses?
  7. I know awhile ago I tried and it wouldn't let me.. Maybe was doing something wrong, but at least I can now!
  8. I have found very similar issues when using Strava to record my rides, one of the most irritating is when you finish a ride and it tries to update, but because of low signal it gets half way and complains about an error, there is no way to fix or save that ride.. So I moved over to using a very simply gps tracking app on my phone, I settled with Endomondo which is super light on battery and uploads your ride at intervals, also found it to be the most accurate, Then after very one or two rides, you just export the GPX and upload to Strava
  9. So just saw that I (non premium strava member) can create segments in strava Since a while ago it was only premium members that could
  10. Would anyone have the 40Km route profile?
  11. Ok, so can aim for a better average than the magalies monster at least, In that case I would be happy with anything close to 2 hours
  12. So still pretty new at these races, but I see on the 40km, for #1 guys are doing it in 1h30, If I'm working that out right its 26km/h average which is very quick for mtb, or is that pretty standard and the terrain isn't that technical? What would be a good average?
  13. Me too, did mine late last night
  14. Pics are up on the magaliesmonster website They included the pic of the mini dog http://www.magaliesmonster.co.za/azure/wm-36728-galleryimages/130525_PMM_cv_100.jpg?MaxWidth=650&MaxHeight=650
  15. The Pics are up on www.actionphotos.net
  16. Is R180 for 5 or 6 photos a reasonable price to pay just for the downloaded copies?
  17. The monster had fun with that rim..
  18. Was also impressed by how organized the whole event was, well done to them!
  19. I also enjoyed it, was a nice mixture of rocks, uphill and concrete single track Next year I plan to do the 45Km, because it was my first race, I only did the 20km and loved every minute of it.
  20. Just received the email with all the details, Can't wait, this is my first race... Only doing the 20km..
